Optimizing The Division 2 - how to increase the frame rate?

Besides many graphics options that should allow you to adjust the game to your PC, The Division 2 has a benchmark, a built-in application for testing the game's performance. The game shows the performance of your GPU and CPU as well as the number of FPS. You can save your results in a .xml document (Excel extension) and shows the average result. The picture below shows an exemplary benchmark test.

If you experience FPS drops (FPS - frames per second) on a mid-range PC, try to turn a few options off, e.g. all those that increase the quality, resolution or number of details and elements in the game. The Low preset leaves a few options on or sets them to medium.

Think about turning off:

  1. V-Sync
  2. Shadows
  3. Reduce the terrain quality
