Pilot's weapons | Weaponry Titanfall Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Each Pilot can be equipped with 3 kinds of weapons - Primary Weapon, designed for fighting against the other Pilots and AI controlled bots, Anti-Titan Weapon and a small Sidearm. It goes without saying that the weapons are different from each other, when it comes to accuracy, range and the number of ammo. Each one of them can be upgraded with Attachments or Mods, which you unlock by completing challenges. To find out what you need to do, in order to unlock a given upgrade, in the weapons menu, you need to select the scope, suppressor, etc, and the game will display the requirements and your progress in meeting these requirements.
Below, all of the weapons have been presented.
Primary Weapons
Name: R-101C Carbine
Attachment: Iron Sights, HCOG, HOLOSIGHT, AOG
These are various scopes, from the ones designed to be operating on shorter distances, to the ones that are more "sniper" like (starting from the left).
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+10), Suppressor
Factory Issue - the basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Suppressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage).
Description: The basic Pilot weapon, does not stand out with anything unusual. You could say it is a Kalashnikov - a good weapon that allows you to fight over both medium and long distance. Medium damage and the fire rate make this weapon a tool that can be used against any kind of enemy (save the Titans of course). Although this is one of the weapons available early in the game, Pilots tend to stick to it as it simply proves good in almost any situation Amped R-101C card increases the weapon's damage.
Name: Eva-8 Shotgun
Attachment: Iron Sights
The basic sights.
Mods: Factory Issue, High-Capacity Drum (+3), Leadwall, Suppressor
Factory Issue - the basic version, High-Capacity Drum - increases ammo capacity, Leadwall - increases the weapon spread, at the cost of damage, facilitates elimination of enemies n clusters, Suppressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage)
Description: An ideal weapon over short distances - a well aimed shot is capable of killing an enemy Pilot. A good weapon for defending targets, if you want to camp a little. It works mainly in tight rooms but, in the open areas it may prove useless. The weapon can be set to fully automatic mode with Amped Eva-8 card.
Name: Smart Pistol MK5
Attachment: Iron Sights
Basic sights.
Mods: Factory Issue, Enhanced Targeting, Extended Magazine (+6), Suppressor
Factory Issue - basic version, Enhanced Targeting - enhances the speed of locking on to the target, as well as increases the range of the weapon, decreases the width of the field where you can lock on the target, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Suppressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage).
Description: An intelligent pistol that works, somewhat, like an aimbot - you only need to aim at the enemy for sufficiently long and the pistol will lock on the target and, after the shot is fired, it sends a lethal bullet. An excellent weapon against the AI controlled bots, because it allows you to eliminate multiple enemies with one squeeze of the trigger. Unfortunately, it does not always work against Pilots, because you need sufficiently more time to target the Pilot (you need 3 shots for that). It is ideal against enemies that you sneak up on from behind, because of short range, it is only effective over short distances. Amped Smart Pistol card increases the inflicted damage.
Name: R-97 Compact SMG
Attachment: Iron Sights, HCOG
Basic sights and the one with the function of zooming (HCOG).
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+10), Scatterfire, Suppressor
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Scatterfire - enhances the weapon's rate of fire, at the cost of accuracy, Suppressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage)
Description: A weapon with a very high rate of fire, and low damage. Its advantage is in peppering the enemy with a quick series of bullets (further improved by Scatterfire). It is perfect in rooms, a bit worse in the open areas, unless over short distance. Ampa R-97 card makes this weapon even more deadly, by increasing the inflicted damage.
Name: Longbow-DMR Sniper
Attachment: 6x Zoom Scope, AOG, 4,5 Zoom Scope
The first one designed for fight over long distance, the last over medium one and the AOG over "short" distance short from a sniper rifle's perspective).
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+4), Supression, Stabilizer
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Suppressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage), Stabilizer - facilitates aiming, enhances stability.
Description: A typical sniper rifle, with semi-automatic fire mode. Due to the game's dynamic nature, it only works in two cases - while defending the seized points and while camping somewhere away from the frontline. Recommended only for experienced players because, in the hands of a novice, the weapon is difficult to handle and it is difficult to hit anything. If you want to camp for the duration of the round, it is a good thing to find a good viewpoint and consider mounting a suppressor. Amped DME equips the weapon with a sonar scope.
Name: Hemlok BF-R
Attachment: Iron Sights, HCOG, HOLOSIGHT, AOG
These are various types of scopes, starting with those designed for fighting over short distance through the ones devoted to snipers (starting from left).
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+6), Supressor, Starbust
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Supressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and inflicted damage), Starbust - increases the number of bullets fired with one pull of the trigger from 3 to 5, slightly lowers the accuracy.
Description: This weapon fires series of bullets, which means that when you aim well, all 3 bullets can hit one opponent and, in most cases, end his life. In the heat of combat this may prove to be the weapon's disadvantage - an automatic weapon would be better over short distances. To use the weapon to its full extend, you should attack from a distance - fire an accurate series, then move on. Starbust mod increases the magazine capacity by 1 and increases the number of bullets shot in one series from 3 to 5, at the cost of higher recoil. However, with this mod, the weapon may prove efficient over short distance (provided that the first series hits the target - in most cases there is no opportunity to fire again). While using Amped Hemlok the weapon's inflicted damage is increased.
Name: G2A4 Rifle
Attachment: Iron Sights, HCOG, HOLOSIGHT, AOG
These are various types of scopes, starting with those designed to fighting over a bit shorter distance through the ones devoted to snipers (starting from left)
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+4), Supressor, Match Trigger
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Supressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage), Match Trigger - enables you to fire as fast as you can pull the trigger (read: repeatedly press fire button).
Description: Semi-automatic rifle, which inflicts pretty high damage and has decent accuracy. This allows you to both keep accurate repeated fire over a long distance, as well as fire quickly at close quarters (in the other case it falls short compared to automatic weapons, however, this can be improved by Match Trigger mod). The weapon's inflicted damage increases when you are using Amped G2A4 card.
Name: C.A.R. SMG
Attachment: Iron Sights, HCOG
The basic sights and one with 1.85x zoom (HCOG).
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+10), Supressor, Counterweight
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Supressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage), Counterweight - increases the weapon's accuracy while on the move.
Description: An SMG with lower fire-rate, though with higher damage and better accuracy than R-97 Compact SMG. Excellent at short range (this is an automatic weapon after all), as well as at fighting in open space, where the distance between opponents usually is larger. The best mod is Counterweight, which allows to shoot much more accurately while running. The inflicted damage increases with Amped C.A.R. card.
Name: Spitfire LMG
Attachment: Iron Sights, HCOG, HOLOSIGHT, AOG
These are various types of scopes, starting with those designed for fighting over a bit shorter distance through the ones devoted to snipers (starting from left)
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+16), Slammer
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Slammer - significantly increases damage in rodeo.
Description: A weapon suited for Rambo. Has low precision over mid-range, becomes useless at a long distance. Its power lays in high rate of fire - mostly used indoors, the weapon is able to sweep opponents away, without even taking much time to aim. Equipped with Slammer mod, it enables to destroy enemy Titans in rodeo both quickly and effectively. That alone is enough reason to give this weapon a try. The weapon's fire-rate increases with Amped LMG card.
Name: Kraber-AP Sniper
Attachment: 6X Zoom Scope, AOG, 4.5X Zoom Scope
The first scope from the left offers the largest zoom, the one in the middle the lowest, while the one in the right - average.
Mods: Factory Issue, Extended Magazine (+1), Supressor, Stabilizer
Factory Issue - basic version, Extended Magazine - increases ammo capacity, Supressor - when you fire a shot, you do not appear on the enemy minimap (decreases range and the inflicted damage), Stabilizer - improves the weapon's accuracy.
Description: The most powerful sniper rifle in the game. It allows you to shoot from the farthest corners of maps and deliver deadly damage - one shot, one kill. Requires reloading after each shot, so it is best to shoot only when you are sure you are going to hit your target. Since it is very hard to hit a moving target, a better tactics may be to hunt more static Pilots - the ones capturing points in Hardpoint mode, flags in Capture the Flag, hacking turrets, or performing rodeo one of your friendly Titans. It is good to equip the weapon with a suppressor and select Active Radar Pulse Pilot ability, which will allow you to locate opponents more easily. Taking a good position, preferably one towering over other parts of the map, is essential. When you activate Amped Kraber card, Kraber fires explosive rounds.
Anti-Titan Weapons
Name: Archer Heavy Rocket
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: A strong weapon against Titans, requires reloading before each individual shot. Before you fire, it is necessary to lock on the target by keeping it in the sights for several seconds. Then, the rocket hits the target automatically, unless it hits an obstruction along its path. Amped Archer card provides even more damage.
Name: Sidewinder
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: A weapon that fires several rockets within a short time window. It is perfect for attacking from the side/back of the enemy Titan and for finishing off the ones with low health. Ideal for firing at the weak points of the enemy mechs, which are, of course, highlighted in red. Amped Sidewinder increases ammo capacity.
Name: Mag Launcher
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: Fires magnetic grenades, which, when fly close enough to an enemy Titan, stick to it and explode. Thanks to that fact, even a slightly inaccurate shot will deal damage to the enemy machine. The grenades can also kill Pilots, however, those should only be collateral damage - the weapon is designed mostly against Titans and should be used solely to this purpose. Parabolic trajectory of missiles fired with this weapon allow you to fire at enemy even from behind a cover (when fired above an obstacle, grenades will fly over the cover and land on the right spot). Amped Mag Launcher card increases ammo capacity by 3 and switches the weapon's fire mode to fully automatic.
Name: Charge Rifle
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: The weapon deals really huge damage and has excellent accuracy and range. Seems perfect at first glance, however, it has one major drawback - before you fire it, you first have to wait until it charges to maximum, after which the weapon fires automatically. Good timing is essential - it is best to charge the weapon when you are hiding behind a cover, then, when the charge bar is nearly full, lean out, quickly locate an enemy Titan, and hide again after firing the shot. Using Amped Charge Rifle significantly lowers the charging time.
Sidearm
Name: RE-45 AutoPistol
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: Automatic pistol. Quite high rate of fire, it can be very useful in small rooms, when you run out of ammo for your primary weapon - if you draw the weapon quickly and send a series of shots into an enemy Pilot, this may save your life. Using Amped RE-45 card increases the pistol's inflicted damage.
Name: Hammond P2011
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: A regular pistol with decent damage. It is recommended in situations in which you find yourself cornered - it takes more time to reload the primary weapon than to use this one. Effective only at short distance. The weapon enters Burst Fire mode (3 bullets per one shot) when used with Amped P2011 card.
Name: B3 Wingman
Attachment: none
Mods: none
Description: A powerful revolver, very slow though. Inflicts high damage, however, due to its low rate of fire it can be hard to hit a moving opponent. The fire-rate gets significantly increased through Amped Wingman card.
