Maps | Combat Titanfall Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
There are 15 maps in total in Titanfall at the time. They vary mostly in architecture, location of key points, their size, number of turrets, etc. The main thing they all have in common is their diversity - there is not a single map where there are only buildings or only open space. Usually these types of terrain interweave, sometime to the dominance of one. On every map you can encounter not only players, but also AI-controlled enemies or sometimes hackable turrets and ziplines, which allow you to move around the place much faster.
The maps descriptions mainly focus on strategic locations (capture points and flags), important places, and vantage points.
Turrets
Turrets can be captured. After hacking a turret it becomes your own until it gets re-captured or destroyed. It attacks enemies and its kills are adding toward your score. However, you should not go back and forth only to activate turrets - while hacking, you are exposed to enemy fire, even when you are using cloaking device. Try to capture turrets only when it is fairly safe around you. Use The "Icepick" kit in order to speed up the hacking process. Remember that you can only hack neutral or enemy turrets - you cannot "filch" them from your allies.
Ziplines
Ziplines are placed across some maps. They allow you to quickly move from one point to another, so they can be very useful e.g. when running away with a flag. The drawback of this is that when zipping down, you are exposed to fire and cannot shoot back very accurately. Try to use cloaking while zipping down in order to minimize the risk. To zip down stand close to a stretched rope and press the same button which is used to enter a Titan ([E] by default). You can jump off at any point.
