Types of story-related quests in Starlink Battle for Atlas Starlink Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 23 November 2018
In Starlink, the story is presented in the form of a large number of small main quests, which are usually limited to completing a single task. Only a small fraction of the quests is more extensive and require more commitment from the player. Side quests are also constructed in a very simple way. In this chapter you will find information about the types of missions you will stumble upon during your adventure.
Main quests
Main quests oscillate around a very specific group of missions, whose tasks are often extremely similar to each other, sometimes even identical. Therefore, after a certain stage of the game, subsequent missions will not surprise you anymore.
Make contact with a facility
This type of quest appears mainly at the beginning of the game. Here your task will be to reach a specific facility on a given planet and offer it your help. Thanks to that you will be able to establish a cooperation with it and gain a foothold on a given planet.
Go to a specific place
In this type of quest you have to go to a specific place indicated by the game. Equinox is the most common target in this type of quest. It can also be a new planet. Usually this type of quest appears right before an important story-related event.
Eliminate a specific enemy
This is a more advanced quest than the previous ones. It is associated with fighting a difficult opponent, such as the Prime. Before you can fight such an opponent, however, you will first need to complete several additional tasks, such as destroying a specific amount of Extractors.
Side quests
Side quests are, in most cases, limited to cooperation with a friendly facility. They will give you tasks related, in some way, with their work.
Exploration missions
These types of missions are related to exploring new territories and species of creatures. They are related mainly to observatories.
Extraction missions
In those types of missions you must provide a specific item to a specific facility. It can be a mineral or an object important for the functioning of the facility itself. In this type of mission you will be provided with a specific location where you can find the item. Once you are at the designated location, the scanner will initiate, allowing you to pinpoint the location of the item.
Defense missions
Those types of missions do not appear on the task panel. You can find them only on the map, where they will be marked as red circles around a given facility. This means that a facility is under attack and needs your assistance.
