Why don't the abilities cooldown in Mutant Year Zero?
Team members in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden can use various active mutations (skills), although they do not regenerate in a traditional way. On this page, we suggest how to renew your skills in Mutant Year Zero.
In Mutant Year Zero, skills do not regenerate in a typical way, i.e. automatically cooling down after a certain number of turns have elapsed since their use. Instead, the only way to renew your abilities is to kill enemies. Depending on the mutation, it is necessary to eliminate two or three enemies - you can easily determine this by highlighting the skill you are interested in (an example mutation from the picture requires three kills).
After you activate the given ability, you can check how many kills you need to renew it. This is indicated by illuminated skulls - in the example above, two of the three required opponents have already been killed.
Enemies killed by your entire team contribute to reloading the abilities. You don't have to eliminate enemies only with the character whose ability you want to renew.
Note that if you play on normal (lowest available) difficulty level, the renewal of skills is additionally simplified. This happens automatically at the end of the battle, so you can take advantage of them as soon as the next skirmish begins. When playing at higher difficulties, it may be necessary to kill one or more opponents at the beginning of a new battle, before the abilities are fully restored.
