Guardians of the Galaxy: Performance on the consoles
Guardians of the Galaxy has 2 graphical modes for PS5 and Xbox Series X:
- Performance mode - it prioritizes displaying the animations in 60 frames per second. Unfortunately, this is not always possible - you may experience, e.g. animation drops during more intense battles or single animation skips while the game loads subsequent locations in the background. The game will run in 1080p.
- Quality mode - it emphasizes higher image quality and better shadows or particle effects. The game aims to display gameplay in 4K resolution. However, the resolution is dynamically scaled depending on the intensity of each scene meaning that it can drop to, e.g. 1800p. The animation is displayed in stable 30 frames per second.
As for the other consoles, the situation looks like this:
- Xbox Series S doesn't have the performance mode and the maximum resolution at which the game is running is 1080p. The graphics quality is significantly lower than those offered by PS5 and Xbox Series X.
- On PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, the game runs in 1080p and 30 frames per second. There are some drops in animation.
- Unfortunately, the game has very big problems with keeping an acceptable resolution on base PS4 and Xbox One (900p or even 720p) and keeping stable 30 frames per second.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Disk space requirements on different platforms
Requirements for the amount of disk space vary significantly depending on the hardware:
- Thanks to a special compression system, the PS5 version requires the least space - about 31 GB.
- The PS4 version requires about 60 GB.
- Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X versions require about 42 GB.
- The PC version is the most demanding in this regard - you need to have about 80 GB of free space.
