This page of the Guardians of the Galaxy game guide describes the important choices of hiding llamas or equipment and supporting Ko-Rel or Nikki from Chapter 2.
Last update: 16 November 2021
This page of the guide to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has a detailed discussion of all the choices in chapter 2 - Busted. You will find out when you have to make key decisions as well as what are their long-term consequences.
Our guide doesn't have a page about important choices from the prologue and chapter 1 - these stages simply do not contain any important decisions that would have any serious consequences.
The description of the choices in chapter 2 contains spoilers for obvious reasons, including the events or changes that may occur in the later chapters of the campaign. Nevertheless, we tried to limit the details and focus on the choices themselves.
Hide the creature or Rocket's stuff
The first important choice awaits you at the very beginning of chapter 2. Specifically, after the Guardians' ship approaches the Hala's Hope frigate - you will have a conversation with Ko-Rel over the intercom.
You have to choose what will be hidden in the box on the ship before the Guardians' ship gets searched - you will be able to choose one of the two available options:
- Option 1: Hide the creature (llama)
- Option 2: Hide technology (Rocket's illegal equipment)
You will learn the first consequences of the decision later in chapter 2, after traveling together with Nikki and meeting Ko-Rel again.
- If you chose option 1 and hid the llama, the Guardians will have to pay 7,000 credits. This means that it will be easier to pay it - you will have more credits in chapter 6. In addition, in chapter 10, it's easier to get out of the cabin with the llama's help.
- If you chose option 2 and you hid Rocket's contraband, the Guardians will be charged 8,000 credits which will force you to a little more savings in chapter 6. By selecting this option, you will gain access to the additional armament for the ship (if you chose option 1, the weapons were lost), which will be useful in space battles in chapter 9. In addition, in chapter 10, you will have an additional sequence during which you will have to release the characters from their quarters.
None of the options described above is clearly better. You will be able to easily pay an even higher penalty from option 2. The changes in chapters 9 and 10 do not have a key impact on the course of the campaign and do not change the difficulty level that much.
Additional information - Even if you did not hide the llama by choosing option 2, it will not be taken away from you. She will still be able to appear in various scenes on the ship.
Supporting Ko-Rel or supporting Nikki
The second important choice appears just after traveling together with Nikki (the sequence after falling to a lower level). Eventually, you will reach a passageway - you will encounter Ko-Rel and her team. Ko-Rel will be furious with her daughter for putting herself in unnecessary danger.
The elevator ride will begin, during which you can decide how to behave.
Option 1 assumes supporting Ko-Rel by agreeing with her judgment that Nikki acted irresponsibly.
For option 1, you must select left or top behavior options, so avoid supporting Nikki or standing up for her.
Your actions will lead to informing Ko-Rel that Nikki has a personal device - the girl will lose her access card. Unfortunately, there is no reward for this option. If you don't get the access card, you won't be able to access additional content in chapter 7 (more on that below).
Option 2 assumes supporting Nikki i.e. you will try to make her less responsible and protect her from her mother's anger.
For this option, you must choose the right options, i.e. attempt to start the elevator, try to help Nikki, and take all the blame.
If you chose option 2, you will gain Nikki's trust - she will give the hero a Passkey.
You can use the access card you got from Nikki in several places in the game world. Its most important use is the yellow door from Chapter 7 shown in the picture. By opening them, you will reach the otherwise inaccessible section, where you should find a workbench and a collectible.
If you don't have Nikki's access card, you won't be able to visit this place. However, there are no items here that are required for the platinum trophy.
