Basic information about the important choice and the Rocket variant
Chapter 4 is unique because the locations of secrets vary depending on the important choice made during chapter 3. It differs based on who you have chosen to sell - Groot or Rocket. The following walkthrough assumes that you have decided to sell Rocket. The variant in which you sell Groot is described on a separate page of our guide.
You cannot make this choice in Chapter 4, because it begins after the final decision has been made. If you chose Groot, then the game will won't allow you to change your mind once you have entered the fortress for Rocket.
In both variants, you will have the chance to obtain the same collectibles, i.e. the items that you find are identical. Their locations vary because depending on the choice you've made, you will visit different sections of Lady Hellbender's fortress. You can't visit both parts of the fortress in a single playthrough of the game. The Rocket variant requires direct combat and involves stealing valuables from the Treasury.
The good news is that, since you will find the same collectibles in both variants, you don't have to go through the game twice to get 100% of the secrets. You can simply focus on obtaining the collectibles in one of the variants.
List of mission 4 secrets - selling Rocket
In Rocket's variant of chapter 4, you can find 5 secrets.
- Archives x2
- Costume x2
- Guardian Collectible x1
Remember to collect all the collectibles in chapter 4 in one go. You can't save progress while replaying chapters. This is especially important for costumes - you need to get all of them to unlock the platinum trophy.
(Rocket variant) Archive: Drones
This secret can be obtained at the beginning of the chapter, soon after the encounter scene with Lady Hellbender. After landing in the Sewers, you will have to run from the drone and, among other things, the plan involves destroying crates and jumping to the nearby platform (screenshot no.1).
Proceed a bit further and you will find the secret on one of the crates (screenshot no. 2).
(Rocket variant) Outfit: Guardians of the Galaxy 2014 - Drax
You can start searching for this outfit as soon as you have obtained the previous collectible. As you progress a bit further, you'll have to squeeze through and your teammates will automatically enter the large circular tunnel. Don't follow them and instead check out the platform from screenshot no. 1. Double jump to land safely on it. Climb to the following, higher platform, and you'll find the crate containing the collectible.
(Rocket variant) Outfit: Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse - Rocket
This secret can be found upon completing the second drone escaping sequence, which involves tearing out a section of the floor (screenshot no. 1).
You'll fall down into the sewers. While exploring them, examine the left passage and you will come across a crate containing the outfit (screenshot no. 2).
(Rocket variant) Archive: Unknown Ghilaron Species
This is one of the two secrets found in the treasury. It's a good idea to obtain it before you start collecting the valuables, as this will trigger a cut-scene depicting poisonous gas pouring into the treasury, which will force you to hurry.
(Rocket variant) Guardian Collectible: Assassin's Ring
This is one of the two secrets found in the treasury. It's a good idea to obtain it before you start collecting the valuables, as this will trigger a cut-scene depicting poisonous gas pouring into the treasury, which will force you to hurry.
