Immortals Fenyx Rising: Ligyron boss - how to defeat? Immortals Fenyx Rising guide, walkthrough
Last update: 26 February 2021
On this page of the Immortals Fenyx Rising game guide, you will learn how to defeat Ligyron, one of the main bosses in the game. You will encounter him near the end of the Family Emergency quest.
The fight against Ligyron is divided into several phases. When his health drops by a certain amount, a cutscene will play, and then Typhon will grant Ligyron a new power. The less HP Ligyron has, the harder he is to fight.
Phase 1
Ligyron has a standard attack. He swings his sword twice. It's possible to parry this attack and it's easy to dodge, as well. After performing a perfect dodge, you should attack him from behind.
Ligyron repeatedly uses an attack that turns his shield into Typhon's fiery head. He shoots fire in a straight line, but with surprising speed, so you'll have to be careful with your timing. It's better to dodge far too early than to attempt a perfect dodge. Even if you successfully perform a perfect dodge, it might take you some time to get close to the boss. The attack is, of course, impossible to parry.
If Ligyron is far enough away from your character, he may take advantage of the situation by performing a ranged attack that forms rings. The first ring will always be horizontal, and the second vertical. You can parry these attacks if they glow yellow. Instead, you might want to perform a perfect dodge to get closer to the boss.
Phase 2
When his health drops to about 75%, his strenght will increase and his attacks will more frequently become impossible to parry.
This especially affects his long-range attack. When he starts glowing red, he's about to use an upgraded version of his ability. The main difference is that the attack will be impossible to parry. In addition, he will shoot out 4 rings instead of 2 like before.
Phase 3
The last phase starts when Ligyron's health is cut down to half. During this phase, he gains the ability to use one of his most dangerous attacks.
Ligyron teleports to the center of the arena and begins to evoke a dark explosion. You should avoid standing in its epicenter. When you notice him preparing this attack, move away from him to a safe spot. Additionally, after the explosion, tentacles will appear momentarily. Watch out for them and keep your distance. The good news is that, after the explosion, Ligyron will be knocked out for a while, so use this opportunity to attack him.
Ligyron also uses a linear attack similar to your character's ability, Hephaistos's Hammer. The attack is impossible to parry, so you'll need to dodge to the side.
The axe is very useful in the fight against Ligyron, because its finishing combo makes him lose his balance and prevents him from attacking for a moment. It is important to stay close to him during the fight.
