Immortals Fenyx Rising: Clanking Automaton Lieutenant boss - how to defeat? Immortals Fenyx Rising guide, walkthrough
Last update: 02 March 2021
On this page of the Immortals Fenyx Rising game guide, you will learn how to defeat the Clanking Automaton Lieutenant, one of the main bosses in the game. He appears at the end of the Shaken to the Core quest.
The Clanking Automaton Lieutenant is a larger version of the enemies you've encountered before during Hephaistos's quest. He doesn't differ significantly from them, but he has a lot more health and deals more damage.
Many of the boss's attacks are impossible to parry, so you should avoid trying. This includes the attack during which he sits down on the ground and begins to rotate around his own axis, activating lasers from his hands. You will get the chance to attack him during this move, however, be careful not to get hit by his lasers. Jump over them to not get hit, or simply run in the direction they are spinning.
The Automaton Lieutenant can also perform a ranged attack. He uses it when you're too far away from him. Although this is one of his few ranged attacks, we recommend staying near him during the fight. This attack also can not be parried, so make sure to dodge sideways.
The boss can also stick his pincers into the ground, then jump into the air a moment later and deal damage upon landing. Beware of this move, it's a good idea to perform a perfect dodge as he lands and then assault him with an axe. The boss is very susceptible to attacks that fill the stamina bar.
The Clanking Automaton Lieutenant can also attack you with his feet. His foot begins to glow red when he is about to initiate this ability. When the foot hits the ground, it will create a small explosion. After attacking with one leg, he repeats the attack with the other leg. Both attacks are impossible to parry. Once again, it's a good idea to perform a perfect dodge and follow it up by attacking him with an axe.
Even though the boss is easily stunned, remember that you can't keep him permanently knocked out. When his stun bar is about to reach its end, you should move away from him, as he'll create an explosion around him while recovering his, dealing damage and knocking your character backwards. You can use this to your advantage and make a perfect dodge so you can deal significantly more damage without having to worry about playing defensively.
