In the Captains tab, you can see the candidates listed according to the most important attributes for a captain.

Selecting a captain is not so important when it comes to strategy, but a good captain is a link between you and the players. You have to select a captain at least once a season, before it starts. You can also select vice-captains, who will take the lead when the main captain is not playing. The main job of a captain is to motivate the players on the field, to be a ling between the manager and the team and to stand as an example for his friends.

Interacting with the captain

The captain is a person with whom you can communicate to discuss important team issues. You can do it from the Interaction menu, by selecting the Ambassadorial Duties sub-menu. You can ask the captain about the morale of the team, have him talk to an unhappy player, or ask him to help you solve a conflict with a team member. The captain can also greet new players so that they feel better in the team.

Selecting a player

To select a player, enter the Tactic -> Captains menu, where you will find a full list for players sorted according to their attributes. Before you choose a player, consider the following features:

1. Squad status - your captain should be a regular starter, playing in the first team for the whole season.

2. Age - a captain can't be too young. It is best if it's an experienced player with high attributes (about 26-33 years old).

3. Years spent in the club - it is good if the player that is supposed to be the captain already played a few matches in the club. It's even better if he begun his career here.

4. Attributes - the most important ones are Leadership and Determination.

5. Personality - avoid players who are Slacks. Your captain should be a Professional. His personality can't be a negative feature.

6. Reputation - high reputation of the captain can be an extra value.

Talking to the captain will allow you to scan the players' moods.

You can replace the captain any time. However, it would be good not to do it too often so that the team sticks together. Every change can influence the morale of the players, especially the one who jus lost his position. To alleviate the negative effects, you can first let the player now what you're going to do by using Interaction in his profile.
