Player instructions | Tactics Football Manager 2016 Guide

Apart from team instructions, you can also give individual instructions, for individual positions, and for players that play on those positions. Remember that you can assign various roles with various positions. If you want to do this basing on the base eleven, first pick the squad and access Tactics -> Player. Thanks to this, players that you chose will be assigned to specific positions, which will make it easier to give them instructions, basing on their attributes. Also, you can give individual instructions to specific players, by selecting "Add a Player". By default, the instructions you give concern every player that plays on a given position.
Note: Some of the player instructions are assigned to positions by default, depending the role, and you cannot change them without changing the role.
Instructions available for players depend on the position that you pick. Instructions that you can give to the goalkeeper (e.g. the way to resume the game, or the specific player that he is to pass the ball to) are different from those you can give, e.g. to an outside defender (the direction of centering, raids along sidelines). You can define players' behavior when they own the ball and when they don't. It is a good idea to pick instructions that are useful for players on specific positions, e.g. "Dribble less", for a poorer player, or "Fewer risky passes", if your tactic is focused on slower and consistent constructing of actions, without taking unnecessary risks.
