The recommended general perks described below require different numbers of Upgrade Points to unlock them - Biomutant: Perks - which are the best? - FAQ - Biomutant Guide

The recommended general perks described below require different numbers of Upgrade Points to unlock them. Additionally, you will need to be at a high enough level to select some of the perks. Keep that in mind and consider certain perks once you meet the required character level.

  1. Luck Out - costs 1 point - This perk increases the chance of finding loot by 10%. All things considered, this is actually a very useful bonus that will allow you to obtain even more items to use, dismantle (for crafting components) or sell to merchants. This will improve your progress in the game.
  2. Charmer - costs 1 point - This perk increases the chance of succeeding in a Persuasion attempt during a conversation by 1. You won't use it very often, but it can come in handy during more important meetings and save you from having to load a save from before the conversation.
  3. Ki Energize - costs 1 point - The perk allows you to recover some of the Ki Energy spent by performing a special attack. This can significantly help you to keep your Ki Energy at a level that allows you to use it regularly. However, remember that the cooldown is not automatic - you have to press the L1/LB trigger right after the special attack.
  4. Plating - costs 2 points - This perk increases the effectiveness of Add-Ons used to enhance your equipment. The perk can increase the potential armor bonus provided by an Add-On by 25%. Increasing your total armor points makes it much easier to stay alive.
  5. Clip Tech - costs 2 points - The perk increases the magazine capacity of all ranged weapons by 25%. This can be very useful if you like to use guns often, and especially if you prefer ranged weapons with a high rate of fire or whose magazine is small by default.
  6. Toytinkerer - costs 2 points, requires level 7 - This perk increases the effectiveness of the Automaton's (i.e. the mechanical grasshopper pet) weapon by 100%. This can be a big help if you like using the little helper.
  7. Technician - costs 3 points, requires level 7 - This perk improves the attack speed of ranged weapons by 10%. This is one of the perks that are recommended if you regularly use guns or other types of ranged weapons. You will be able to increase the effectiveness of your ranged attacks.
  8. Adrenaline - costs 3 points, requires level 7 - This perk improves health regeneration during fights by 40%. Consider getting this perk as early as possible, especially if you're playing on a high difficulty. Increased healing of a character's wounds can go a long way in keeping them alive.
  9. Whet - costs 3 points, requires level 15 - This perk increases melee weapon damage by 15%. Getting this perk should definitely be your priority once you reach the required experience level. Close combat is the primary way to eliminate enemies in the game, and every damage bonus is extremely useful.
  10. Gunsmith - costs 3 points, requires level 15 - This perk increases ranged weapon damage by 15%. Consider getting this perk after you unlock the one described above. Ranged weapons do not lose their importance later in the game and increasing ranged attack damage will help a lot.
  11. Perfect Reload - costs 3 points - This perk allows you to instantly reload guns. Additionally, the damage dealt by ammunition from the next magazine is increased by 20%. These are great bonuses to have when using guns to weaken and eliminate enemies.
In addition to the general perks listed above, you can also buy perks related to your chosen character class for Upgrade Points - Biomutant: Perks - which are the best? - FAQ - Biomutant Guide

In addition to the general perks listed above, you can also buy perks related to your chosen character class for Upgrade Points. In this case, a lot depends on your playstyle, though it's worth considering the cheapest perks that require just 1 point.
