Biomutant: Choices - are they in the game? Biomutant guide, walkthrough
Last update: 28 July 2021
This page of the guide will tell you if there are choices in Biomutant that affect the character you control or the storyline.
In Biomutant, you will make various decisions. Some choices will directly affect the main character, while others will be related to the storyline.
Choices related to the main character
After creating a new character in Biomutant, you will have to make your first choice that will affect your character's Aura. Taking the right path will increase your Light Aura level by 1 point, the left path will increase your Dark Aura level by 1.
The Aura in Biomutant can be described as the main character's conscience. Throughout the game, you will have to make various choices that will affect the protagonist's Aura, as well as how they will be perceived by the NPCs.
The Aura also determines which psionic powers you will be able to use, and determines the ending of Biomutant.
You can find more information about the aura mechanic in Biomutant on the Aura page.
Story choices
As you progress through Biomutant, you will have the opportunity to make choices that will affect the storyline in some way.
- An Alliance: at the beginning of the game, you have to decide whether you will join the Miriad tribe (Light Aura) or the Jagni tribe (Dark Aura). It is worth noting here that you can later change your decision and join a different tribe;
- War of the Tribes: after conquering two tribes, you will be given the choice to continue the crusade or immediately end the war and accept the surrender of the other tribes. This choice determines whether you will be able to conquer the other tribes and get their weapons;
- Ark: one of the main story quests that is tied to the ending of Biomutant. Players have the option to invite up to 4 people to the Ark or refuse to let them in - this decision cannot be reversed. Interestingly, NPCs don't have to accept the place offered to them at all, which may have something to do with the protagonist's Aura;
- Side quests: during the game, you will encounter NPCs who will need help. You can do something for them or refuse.
