Biomutant: 100% Location completion - how to get? Biomutant guide, walkthrough
Last update: 27 May 2021
This page of the Biomutant game guide will tell you how to explore 100% of the locations. You will learn how to find new places to explore, how to understand the list of requirements, and what rewards can be earned for exploring 100% of the unique locations.
Initially, the world map in Biomutant only displays the names of the major areas. Much of the world map is also obscured by fog, and it will become your task to gradually uncover it.
As you explore the world map, you may come across small, unique locations. The game announces your discoveries with on-screen notifications. The location name will also be visible on the world map from this point on.
Unique small locations can have their own task lists - these can appear on the main world travel screen, as well as on the map screen. Unfortunately, the requirements disappear from the map screen once you leave the location. If you want to view the to-do list again, you will need to return to that area. Fortunately, there are signposts at many such locations allowing for fast travel.
The quest list mostly concerns interactive objects and various loot containers. In exceptional cases, there may also be an entrance leading to the underground to discover.
The game does not mark the locations of treasures and devices on the map, but pulsating circles may appear on the screen - an example of such a circle is shown in the image above. These circles can be helpful in locating objects or equipment related to a task list and thus help you fully explore a location. Remember to first check inside buildings in a given location – the treasures hidden there are easiest to miss.
Exploring a location can be interrupted to enemies and it is always a good idea to eliminate them first. This will allow you to explore the site in peace, lowering the risk of missing out on an important treasure.
Some locations you can explore may be contaminated - in the example in the attached image, you have to deal with radiation. Depending on the type of location, you may try to explore it incrementally (i.e. run between buildings that offer shelter or return to the Mekton mech), or equip parts of a suit that will protect you from the particular type of contamination. If you are 100% immune to a given type of contamination, then you won't need to rush while exploring the area.
The game constantly updates the list of things to discover, and will also let you know when you have explored 100% of a given location. It's important to note here that there is no requirement to fully explore the location on the first visit. You can save all or part of the exploration for later. Keep in mind, however, that there is no way to easily view the status of a location from the world map. You have to visit them yourself to find out if you have achieved 100% completion or if you missed something.
