Biomutant: Combat Biomutant guide, walkthrough
Last update: 18 May 2021
This page of the Biomutant guide contains important information about the combat system as well as tips that will help you defeat the enemies.
The combat in Biomutant is dynamic and very spectacular. The key to success against the many types of enemies is to move efficiently and parry, go around the bullets fired by enemies, and use various consumable items.
Different types of enemies
Due to a very large variety of opponents and a huge number of unique moves and abilities, each battle in Biomutant can prove to be a great challenge, especially when facing more opponents and playing on the highest difficulty level.
Dodging and parrying
In Biomutant, you can limit the damage your character takes by dodging or parrying attacks.
- Dodging - performing a dodge at the right moment allows you to avoid damage. It slows down the time for a while and gives you a chance to launch a quick counter;
- Parrying: it allows the hero to block enemy attacks and stun them for a short time so that you can unleash a deadly series of attacks.
Weapons
There are two types of weapons in Biomutant: melee weapons and ranged weapons. Weapons can be obtained in several ways - found in containers, cabinets, and chests, as rewards for completing quests, after defeating enemies, or crafted.
- Melee weapons: slash damage (one-handed and two-handed blades), crush damage (blunt weapons);
- Ranged weapons: pistols, shotguns, rifles, automatic rifles.
You can find more information about the crafting system in Biomutant on the Crafting page.
Wung-Fu
Wung-Fu in Biomutant refers to special combat techniques that enhance the main character's combat capabilities. Both melee and ranged weapons have their own set of Wung-Fu moves, as well as a special super Wung-Fu technique that can be activated when the bar is full (by performing three special finishing moves). Tribal weapons have their own set of Wung-Fu moves.
Below are all the Wung-Fu categories available in Biomutant:
- Close Combat;
- Ranged Combat;
- Basic Melee;
- Basic Ranged;
- Maneuvers;
- Super Wung-Fu.
Mutations and abilities
Mutations in Biomutant are one of the character development mechanics through which the players can alter their character's genetic code, changing their character's appearance, powers, and resistances. To perform a mutation, you will need Bio-points, which can be earned while doing quests and exploring the vast game world of Biomutant.
More information about mutations in Biomutant can be found on the Mutations page.
Boss fights
Boss fights in Biomutant are challenging since these powerful enemies usually have three health bars, making the entire fight divided into 3 phases. In each phase, the boss gains new abilities and also gets slight modifications to the already owned ones, which further complicates the fight.
All boss battles in Biomutant are described in detail in the Bosses chapter.
