Skirmish in Division The Division Guide
Last update: 19 December 2017
Skirmish is one of the two PVP modes (besides Last Stand) that you can play in Tom Clancy's The Division. In this mode 2 teams, consisting of 4 players, face each other and their goal is to eliminate players of the opposite team. Fights last until one of the teams reaches 20 kills or when time runs out (the time limit is 10 minutes). Skirmish was introduced in update 1.8.
How to participate in Skirmish?
In order to play this mode, you have to visit Base of Operations. Go through the main entrance and head straight - run through the long corridor, ignore the doors on the sides and go down the stairs. The Terminal is at the end of the path (more details in "Base of Operations" - "The Terminal").
When you reach the Terminal, you have to go straight and then go right (north, according to the map). There, you can find the place where you can activate PvP modes. Select Skirmish and start searching for players - there aren't many of them participating in this mode and because of that you may have to wait several seconds.
Skirmish rules and tips
This mode has its own rules and because of that you can follow these tips:
- Both teams need to get 20 kills as fast as they can - there are no additional rules, what matters is a fast elimination.
- Kills are counted when a fallen enemy is finished off - if someone "revives" a fallen player then an opposing team won't get any points.
- Teamplay is essential here - playing alone is useless because enemies will be able to kill you instantly.
- Skirmish is a mode where equipment is very important - if you don't have an equipment that allows you to complete the most difficult missions then you shouldn't try to compete with others in this mode. Playing the second PvP mode, Last Stand, is a better idea.
- If you can, you should join with your team or with players you know - gameplay in Skirmish is based on teamplay. The matchmaking system joins players who are in a group with those who play solo. This means that there is a chance to be in a team that consist of 4 players who joined in alone while your opposing team might consist of 4 friends.
