In System Shock Remake, situations where your health bar gets severely depleted are the bread and butter of the gameplay. On this page of our guide, we show ways of replenishing/regenerating a part or 100% of your health bar. There are different methods of doing this, among them using items or special regeneration machines.
Surgery Machine - full health restored
You enter the game after emerging from a Surgery Machine and there are more of them along the way. Interacting with the machine replenishes health in full and is free of charge.
Surgery Machines are marked on your map, and are most of the time found in med sections.
Medicines and First Aid Kits
When in the middle of exploring, and far away from Surgery Machines, you can heal in two main ways:
- Medicines - they appear on a regular basis in the world and alternatively, you can buy them for credits at Transdermal Dispensers. Make sure to always have a supply. Use them to heal between enemies, as automatic health regeneration is very slow and there is no guarantee of getting back to full health.
- First Aid Kits - a definitely more rare find. With single use of them, you can replenish your health back to full. Save them for the most difficult battles.
Food and beverages
You can find food and drinks as common loot or buy them for credits at vending machines (this is not recommended - save your credits for something bigger). They renew a small portion of health. The effect is meagre at best, but use them if this means you save some real healing items.
