Map upgrades are otherwise known as treasure maps, which help you find secrets and finds in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. From our guide you will learn how to obtain maps of databases, treasures, chests, essences and seeds. We also explain on what principles they uncover the game's secret items.

The worlds and planets of Star Wars Jedi Survivor are filled to the brim with collectibles and secrets. To make finding them easier, you can obtain Map Upgrades, which in essence, are treasure maps. From this page of our guide, you'll learn how and where to get upgrades that mark specific types of secrets - Databases, Treasures, Collectible Chests, Seedbags, and Essences. Moreover, we explain how to use these upgraded maps.

- How Map Upgrades work
Upgrade #1 - Database
First, you need to advance in the main story enough to unlock Nova Garon. In the Central Command location, you'll be subjected to a cut-scene depicting the clash with Denvik. After the cut-scene, don't leave the room yet and look for an interactive terminal. BD-1 will download a map with locations of all Databases (echoes and scannable objects).
Upgrade #2 - Chest
This one can only be gotten after the end of the main story. On Koboh, you need to visit Phon'Qi Caverns and defeat 3 mini-bosses there. When the area is clear, approach the interactive terminal. Interact with it and BD-1 will download a map with the locations of all Chests (including those that contain the most valuable Stim Canisters).

Upgrade #3 - Treasure
This one can only be gotten after the end of the main story. On the planet Jedha, you must unlock access to the Wayfinder's Tomb adjacent to the Arid Flats region. This involves going through 3 other optional locations with environmental puzzles. More information can be found on a separate page - Wayfinder's Tomb.
There is an interactive terminal in the tomb. Interact with it and BD-1 will download a map with all Treasures marked (Priorite Shards, Datadiscs, and Jedha Scrolls).
Upgrade #4 - Essence
This one can only be gotten after the end of the main story. In addition, you must complete all 7 Jedi Chambers, which are optional locations with altars. We described the chambers and their exploration in the Puzzles chapter:
- Chamber of Duality;
- Chamber of Reason;
- Chamber of Fortitude;
- Chamber in the Devastated Settlement;
- Chamber of Detachment;
- Chamber of Connection;
- Chamber of Clarity.
After completing the last seventh chamber, you should unlock the Star Tours trophy - a sign that you can focus on the next step.
On the planet Koboh you have to reach the Alignment Control Center - it is near the Rambler's Reach Outpost which you visit in the main storyline.
Next to the meditation point are 7 posts. All screens should glow green to confirm that you have completed the Jedi chambers. Red color means that some chamber was not finished, i.e. you did not take the perk from its altar.
Turn 180 degrees. You can examine the interactive terminal. BD-1 can download from it a map with the locations of all essences (they are called upgrades).
Upgrade #5 - Seedbag
On Jedha, travel to Blustery Mesa and search for Pili Walde - after recruiting this character, she will take care of the garden on the roof of Cantina. Talk to her about it.
Now you must find at least 1 seedbag of each type (in all, there are 10 of them). Deliver 10 different seedbags to Pyloon's Saloon on Koboh. You can use them to grow plants on the rooftop garden (some time must pass before they sprout).
Eventually, you'll unlock access to an interactive terminal. Interact with it for BD-1 to download a map marking the locations of all seedbags.
How Map Upgrades work
With each Map Upgrade received, the Holomap will mark all collectibles of the given type. This applies also to the regions you haven't visited yet. Using treasure maps is very useful when attempting to get the missed secrets and attain 100% completion of a region.
