On this page of our guide to Resident Evil 3 Remake you can find a detailed walkthrough of the NEST 2 area. This is the final location of the game which is a secret underground laboratory of the Umbrella Corporation. The main objective of Jill's visit to the NEST 2 will be to obtain a vaccine for the T-virus. During the exploration of NEST 2 you will have to solve a small create-a-vaccine puzzle.

Get the vaccine

Go through the blue scanner in the Sterilization Room and enter the appropriate part of the Umbrella facility. Head to the southernmost Storage room. Here you will find a typewriter, as well as supplies and a NEST 2 Map.

Get out of the Storage and climb the left staircase to reach level 2F. Get to the large laboratory room where the vaccine manufacturing device is located. You can't use it right away, because you need to get a special vial. This is the beginning of a mini-puzzle. Check the document that lies nearby to get a hint on how to solve the puzzle.

In the same room you will find an active computer. Interacting with it will allow you to get a Flash Drive.

Return to level 1F with the Flash Drive and use it on the electronic lock of the closed door.

Watch out for lots of Pale Heads zombies that wander in the room. Due to the numerous objects hanging from the ceiling of this room, it will be difficult to pass them by. A better idea is to get rid of them all - we recommend using a shotgun or grenade launcher. Wipe them out, all of them. Otherwise, these zombies can regenerate and you will only use up your ammunition unnecessarily.

Jill must find two vials in different rooms of NEST 2. You can reach them in any order.

To reach the first vial, select the side stairs leading to level 2F. On the second floor you will find Lab 1. Kill a single zombie and interact with the panel from the picture above - you'll get the Culture Sample vial.

Return to the room on level 1F. To reach the second vial, proceed to the door in the north-west corner of the room. Descend to level B1 and approach the large door. You'll find out about the need to push the red power source - hold down the interaction button and wait for the tank to change from red to blue.

Open the large door leading to the room with monsters kept in capsules. Get to the elevator which travels to level 2F.

The destination is the Incubation Lab located on level 2F. Watch out for zombies that come out of this room after you get close enough. There will be zombies with parasites on their heads - remember to attack them from as far as possible and to aim at parasites.

When you enter the Incubation Lab, kill another zombie and open the drawer depicted in the above picture - you will get a vial of Liquid-filled Test Tube.

Now, you must return to the room with the vaccine maker device. Don't rush it after using the elevator again, cause Jill will be attacked by Hunters in the capsule room. It is best to use a grenade launcher, magnum or frag grenades to eliminate them. Don't let them too close because they can kill you with a single successful attack.

When you return to the laboratory with the vaccine production device, open the inventory and combine the two vials - you will get a new vial - Vaccine Base.

Use the Vaccine Base vial - insert it into the machine. The last part of the puzzle involves choosing the right settings for the three chambers shown on the screen. The correct setting is MID, HIGH, LOW (image above).

As a reward for passing the riddle, you'll get a Vaccine. Unfortunately, Nemesis will appear once again.
