This page of the guide to Resident Evil 3 Remake has a walkthrough for the demolition site location. Jill must avoid attacks by Nemesis equipped with a flamethrower. Reach the rooftop to start the first full-fledged battle against Nemesis. Our walkthrough will tell you how to avoid Nemesis' attacks and how to defeat him.
Escape the creature
Nemesis attacks Jill by surprise when she attempts to exit the sewers near the demolition site. Don't try to fight Nemesis now, just start running away.
Since Nemesis is equipped with a flamethrower, it is very important to stay away from him. You can also hide behind large obstacles. However, they can be set on fire over time - this creates a risk of coming into contact with the fire. If the heroine is set on fire, she will gradually lose health points over time.
Start by running to the inside of the building and shutting the gate behind you. Unfortunately, it will only temporarily slow Nemesis down. There is a room on the ground floor where you can find e.g. a typewriter and an item chest.
After saving your progress, start climbing to upper floors. Expect to encounter a larger group of zombies next to an inactive escalator. You can defeat them all or try to run past some of them.
Soon, you will have to run away from Nemesis again. Don't stop to avoid being caught up and set on fire by Nemesis. The route is very linear. Once you reach the red boards, hold the interaction button to roll them over and create a bridge.
Keep running. The heroine will automatically jump over all the small gaps and grab onto ladders.
There are a typewriter and an item chest on one of the higher levels of scaffolding. Be sure to save the game and replenish your supplies - we recommend to equip yourself with the shotgun, the grenade launcher, and at least one strong medicine.
Use the right yellow ladder to reach the roof and start the first full-fledged fight against Nemesis. Defeat Nemesis to continue the plot.
Defeat the creature
Nemesis uses a flamethrower in this fight. This means that you have to keep a distance from the boss. You can stand behind large obstacles on the roof. Even if Nemesis uses his flamethrower, Jill won't be set on fire.
The key to winning the first part of this battle is shooting at the fuel tank on Nemesis' back. You can do this in two ways. The first option is to wait in hiding until Nemesis uses up all the fuel and starts refueling the flamethrower. Then you can come out of hiding and shoot the tank.
The second option is to shoot generators that can electrocute and stun Nemesis. You have to wait for Nemesis to approach the generator and fire a shot at it. Do it from a safe distance so Jill doesn't get electrocuted either.
Generators are "multi-use" objects, but once the generator is discharged, you have to wait for the green light to appear again.
After the fuel tank is destroyed, you advance to the second phase of the fight - you must attack and avoid the burning Nemesis. Run a lot and focus on dodges after Nemesis gets close enough to Jill and decides to perform a melee attack. It is best to use a shotgun to weaken Nemesis.
Keep fighting with Nemesis until he gets down on one knee and falls to the ground. After a while, a cut-scene will end the fight. You don't have to do anything now.
After the spectacular "landing", you find yourself in a new part of downtown - Nemesis won't chase you for some time. You unlock Nemesis Down? trophy/achievement.
