On this page of our guide to Resident Evil 3 Remake we have prepared detailed information about all secrets which can be found in Downtown area. It's one of the largest areas in the game, consisting of selected streets and buildings in the center of Raccoon City.

U.B.C.S. Herb Field Manual

You'll find a Herb Field Manual on your way out of Redstone Street Station. It will be in the Subway Station room, where the first typewriter is located.

Shotgun - Tactical Stock

The Tactical Stock upgrade can be found at the Subway Station, in a room that contains, among others, the first typewriter. Unfortunately, you can't take it right away.

You must complete two-thirds of the puzzle with the clock, i.e. deliver two gems found around the area. The upgrade is a reward for placing the second gem in the panel. The solution to the puzzle can be found on a separate page - the puzzle with the clock in the subway - how to solve it?.

Hip Pouch

The pouch is stored in a room at the Subway Station, the one containing the first typewriter. Unfortunately, you can't take it right away.

You must complete 100% of the puzzle with the clock, i.e. deliver the three jewels found around the city. The bag is a reward for placing the last jewel in the panel. The solution to the puzzle can be found on a separate page - the puzzle with the clock in the subway - how to solve it?.

Figurine

The figurine can be found inside the Donut Shop. Check the shelves behind the counter - the secret is hidden in the corner next to the microwave.

Fancy Box

The box is located in the Kitchen of the Doughnut Shop. You have to open it to get the Red Jewel. It is one of three items to be placed in a clock at a subway station (an optional puzzle).

Drugstore Owner's Journal

The journal is in an apartment building in a Downtown neighborhood. This building is located next to the Donut Shop. In the same room you can find the first safe. Read the journal to find a clue on how to open the safe.

Safe / Handgun - Dot Sight

The safe is located next to a journal described above, in an apartment building in Downtown - opening it gives you the Dot Sight upgrade for your handgun.

The combination to open the safe is: 9 Left (stop knob on 9), 1 Right (stop knob on 1), 8 Left (stop knob on 8).

The combination to open the safe varies depending on the version of the game:

1. If you are playing a version earlier than 1.03, the correct combination is 9 left (stop knob on 9), 1 right (stop knob on 1), 8 left (stop knob on 8).
2. If you are playing version 1.03 or later, the correct combination is 9 left (stop knob on 9), 3 right (stop knob on 3), 7 left (stop knob on 7).

Figurine

The figurine is located in the same room in a Downtown apartment building as the two secrets described above (journal and a safe with an improved weapon). Check the shelves to the left. The collectable is on one of them.

Fancy Box

The box is in the Supermarket. It's located on Main Street and you need pliers from the garage (to cut the chain) to open it. Open the box to get the Blue Jewel. It is one of three items to be placed in a clock at a subway station (an optional puzzle).

Training Log

Training Log is in the larger room of the Garage where Nicholai will shoot a wounded soldier. The collectible can be found on the ground, near the corpse of killed man.

U.B.C.S. Suicide Note

The diary lies near the corpse located in the alley which you had to explore while walking through the Garage. After exiting the garage and taking the stairs, turn right.

Electrician's Notice

The note hangs on a wall in the alleyway which can be explored after you have walked through the Garage. You will find it just before fighting two zombie dogs.

Figurine

The figurine is inside the Toy Uncle Supershop located on the main street. The shop can only be explored when you get a lock pick. Use it to open the lock of the front door.

Your Charlie Doll

The poster can also be found in the Toy Uncle Superstore. It's on the wall of a toy store.

Fancy Box

The box is also in the Toy Uncle Superstore. You have to open the box to get the Green Jewel. It is one of three items to be placed in a clock at a subway station (an optional puzzle).

Handgun - Extended Magazine

The extended magazine upgrade can be acquired in an unusual way - you can find one in the Supply Crate left by weakened Nemesis i.e. when he kneels down after receiving enough damage. The first opportunity to get the upgrade in this way comes when returning from Subway Power Substation, as it's the first appearance of Nemesis who begins to harass Jill as she moves around the city.

After taking the Supply Case Dropped by Nemesis, open it in the inventory.

Moderator Handgun

The Moderator upgrade for the gun is obtained in a very similar way to the one described above - it can be found in the Supply Case dropped by Nemesis.

You must attack Nemesis after getting subway back online by completing the puzzle in the Subway Office. After walking through the Donut Shop, there is a short cut-scene from the meeting with Nemesis (pictured above). Don't run away - start attacking until he gets down on one knee and drops the weapon upgrade box.

Shotgun - Semi-Auto Barrel

A Semi-Auto Barrel upgrade for the shotgun can only be obtained after winning a duel with Nemesis at the Demolition Site. As the story progresses, Jill visits Kendo's Gun Shop.

The upgrade is found on one of the shelves inside the store.

Figurine

This secret can only be obtained after you have completed a duel with Nemesis in the Demolition Site and after visiting the Gun Shop Kendo.

On the way back to the Subway Station, Jill must pass through an apartment building. As soon as you enter the building, check the shelf located directly in front of Jill.

Raccoon Times Reader's Column

This secret can only be obtained after you have completed a duel with Nemesis in the Demolition Site and after visiting the Gun Shop Kendo.

On the way back to the Subway Station, Jill must pass through an apartment building. After defeating the monsters on the ground floor, go up the stairs to the first floor and explore the bedroom. The newspaper is on the bed.
