This Side Up | Main Story Prey Guide
Last update: 22 May 2017
In this page you can find a walkthrough for This Side Up mission found in Prey. This is one of the main story missions and you get it after going into space which happens after you exit the Deep Storage (Restore from Backup mission). The main goal of this mission is to find a way to reach the Cargo Bay which is the only available location after Alex locked all passages and airlocks to other areas of Talos I. You can get to the Cargo Bay by using one of the containers. Also, you get a chance to save one of the NPCs - Dr. Igwe.
- Find a way to reach the Cargo Bay
- Find and examine Dr. Igwe's container
- Dock Dr. Igwe's container
- Get to the Cargo Bay
Find a way to reach the Cargo Bay
After completing Restore from Backup mission you found yourself in Talos I Exterior. Fly to the station's direction. Shortly after you start flying you are contacted by a few people. Sarah Elazar informs you about the possibility of accessing the Cargo Bay which is the only available location after Alex locked all passages. The conversation with Sarah automatically unlocks this mission. From Will Mitchell (the person from The Cook's Request side mission) you receive a rather insignificant message (the chance to track him down and kill, if he is still alive, will appear later). Finally, Dr. Igwe will contact you and asks you to help him with getting out of a container drifting near the station.
Find and examine Dr. Igwe's container
Saving Dr. Igwe is optional and the potential rescue operation is a part of the new unlocked mission called Doctor Igwe. You should save him unless your play style involves killing all station crew members which is connected to one of the achievements. You have 7 minutes to save Igwe and even if you won't be in a hurry you still only need a half of that time. Fly to the Igwe's container marked by the game. When you get closer to it you must read its number - 2312.
Warning - If you want to kill Igwe you must interact with the panel on the container's side and complete a hacking mini-game. Since Igwe has no suit he dies immediately after opening the container. A "positive" information is that by examining Igwe's corpse you can get a TranScribe and 2 neuromods.
Dock Dr. Igwe's container
Now, you must fly to the terminal that controls the docks (you can also skip the previous step because Igwe's container number is not generated randomly but is always the same). Watch out for the Cystoids in the area, you should get rid of them first. When you activate the terminal you must enter the number 2312 and then select the option to dock a container. By doing that you save Igwe and get the access to the Cargo Bay.
Warning - During this part you get the second chance to kill Igwe because you can use the command to open the container.
Get to the Cargo Bay
Fly to Igwe's container. If you saved him you get a randomly generated code to the container. Otherwise, use Hacking I to open it. In the container you find an interactive passage to the Cargo Bay. Using it completes this mission and unlocks a new main quest - Shipping and Receiving.
