Dahl | Side Quests Prey Guide

This section contains a list and walkthroughs of all side quests connected to Commander Walther Dahl. The quests are unlocked in the final part of the main story, and their choice depends on certain pre-requisites. Completing them can influence the outcome of the game, and allow you to score certain achievements.

Incapacitate Dahl

Dr. Igwe will suggest a more peaceful solution

This variant is available if you've managed to save Dr. Dayo Igwe by freeing him from a floating cargo, which took place during one of the side quests (Side Quests -> Shuttle Bay -> Doctor Igwe). Soon after the revelation in The Keys to the Kingdom (a message from Alex Yu ordering you to take care of Dahl) Morgan will be contacted by Igwe, who will suggest a solution that allows you to spare Dahl.

Make your way to Yu's office in Talos I Lobby to meet up with Igwe. Talk to him to learn of a possibility to capture Dahl and remove his neuromods, which should deprive him of his recent memories and revert him back to a peaceful state. As a result, your mission will be to capture Dahl alive without killing him.

Use the Stun Gun to incapacitate the target

BEFORE you proceed with the mission, Make sure that you are equipped with the Disruptor Stun Gun (you can fabricate it provided you are supplied with the needed blueprint, or simply find one in one of the numerous locations around the station) which is the key item when considering this variant. Wait for Dahl to reveal his location, which should take place when left with Dahl's Ultimatum. The opponent is waiting for you in Oxygen Flow Control Room in Life Support.

The vicinity of your destination is defended by military operators and Phantoms. The room itself is clear. Equip the Disruptor Stun Gun and use it to incapacitate Dahl.

Igwe and Dahl are waiting in the circular ward

The body will be delivered to Neuromod Division without your help. Take care of other tasks (e.g. finding the tech officer) and wait for a new message from Dayo Igwe who will inform you that Dahl's body is in Neuromod Division and he is making final preparations before the procedure.

Travel to Neuromod Division and access the Neuromod Insertion Room located on level three. Reach the circular ward to encounter both characters.

Begin with immobilizing Dahl

You need to help Igwe perform the neurotomy, which means completing a number of steps in strict order. Approach the surgery console and begin with sending following orders:

1. Engage Surgical Harness
2. Perform Neural Scan
3. Perform Neurotomy

The surgery will be successful, enabling you to gain a new ally. Dahl will be convinced to help the remaining inhabitants in escaping the station (you'll receive a new achievement - This Never Happened). The quest ends with an open ending. If you'll choose an ending in which the remaining crew members escape using Dahl's shuttle, Dahl will be the one to pilot the vessel.

Note - If you wish to score a (quite demanding) trophy (Awkward Ride Home), use the opportunity to kill DR. Igwe after he completes the neurotomy (Dahl won't change his standing towards you even if you shoot the doctor right before him). Do the same with Mikhaila Ilyushin (if she is still alive). Dahl's Ultimatum

Dahl will finally establish contact by leaving you with a tough call

Dahl's Ultimatum is a side mission that can begins randomly after paying a visit to Dahl's Shuttle (an objective of Repo Man, one of the penultimate story quests found in game). Morgan will be contacted by Dahl, who will threaten to murder the remaining crew members held in the cargo bay. You can choose to skip the event completely, or try to address the situation by embarking on a rescue mission. If you've made your mind, make haste, as Dahl's operators will go through with the threat in 15 minutes.

Dahl is making a stand in the Oxygen Pump Control Room

Dahl is hiding in the Oxygen Pump Control Room in Life Support. Make your way to Life Support by using the main elevator in Talos I Lobby. Dahl's hideout is found on level two beyond the decontamination procedure. The path to your objective is guarded by enemy operators and Phantoms - as you are working under a time limit, consider skipping those opponents that do not constrict the access path to your objective.

If you've made it to the control room, either fire at will to take care of your objective without an underlying agenda, or make an attempt to incapacitate the admiral as seen in Incapacitate Dahl. Be careful - your opponent is armed with a powerful shotgun - try to keep the fight as short as possible.

Once you've taken care of the admiral, search the room for a damaged air mixture regulator. You need to be equipped with Repair to be able to fix the regulator, which then has to be placed in the slot seen on screenshot 2.

Ghosting Dahl

Wait for a message from January

The assignment is unlocked shortly after beginning the Repo Man. Morgan will be contacted by January, who will inform him about the ability to disable his tracking bracelet in order to stop Dahl from being able to track his location.

Travel to the Deep Storage (as a reminder - you can access the area by using the Arboretum elevator). Watch out - the area will be inhabited by enemy operators and additional Typhoons. Your job is to access the Command Center located on level 2. Approach the personnel tracking station shown on the screenshot and input 0913 in "Enter Bracelet ID" tab (you can view the number by checking the mission tab). Confirm the deactivation to complete this short mission.
