Talos I Lobby | Side Quests
Last update:
This page contains descriptions of additional quests in Prey which can be unlocked while exploring Talos I Lobby, the central point of the Talos I that you come back to multiple times in the course of the game. Completing these missions is completely optional but will let you obtain valuable items.
Stolen Neuromods
This mission can be unlocked by exploring the lobby. You have to reach the Security Station on level 1. The room can be accessed by walking over the yellow tube or by using the small shaft or by using a keycard on the reader by the door. The keycard to the security office can be found in IT Security room on the second level of the lobby.
Having reached the security office, you can go to the Holding Room shown in picture 1 right away or look for a note (Holding Room) that will let you discover the code to unlock it - 1129. Be careful because you will be attacked by a Mimic in the quarantine room. Get rid of the monster and investigate the Note on the desk shown in picture 2. From it, you can learn that Yuri Kimura illegally keeps neuromods in her office.
Now, you have to reach the sales division which is located in the eastern part of the third level of the lobby. The southern entrance to this area is closed so focus on reaching the northern one. You can do it by going through Teleconferencing Center or by jumping over the metal construction hung over the lobby. Both paths are presented in detail in the description of the Through a Glass Darkly main quest.
In sales division, you have to defeat at least one Phantom (who unfortunately is a transformed Yuri) and several Mimics. Reach Yuri Kimura's office. The pack of 4 neuromods you're looking for can be found on the floor by the desk (the image above).
Disgruntled Employee
This side mission can be unlocked once you've managed to access the level four of Talos I Lobby (the area which houses the malfunctioning elevator and is a background to an encounter with the Typhoon Telepath). The encounter and the task involving the elevator had been described in detail in Lift Interference, a side quest, walkthrough for which can be found in the Arboretum section of our guide.
Once you've took care of the Telepath, search the room for the body of Hendrik DeVries and his Transcribe which should lie next to him. Listen to the Transcribe recording to unlock the quest.
Your first objective will lead you to the Deep Storage. You can access the area by making your way through the Arboretum, however this pathway is only available once you've completed Gathering Echoes, a main quest that seen you travel through the Crew Quarters in search of Danielle Sho's voice samples. Once you've found your way to the Deep Storage, proceed to the centrum dowodzenia found on the second floor. You can access it by performing a climb from the main hall or use a side entrance leading to the staircase (the side entrance requires Hacking III or a randomly generated keycode found on a note stuck to Zachary's West computer, which can be found not far from the entrance to Deep Storage).
Once you've managed to access the command center, defeat a few Mimes and a Thermal Phantom. Your quest requires you to track a person - use a dedicated computer shown on the screenshot and input the required identification code (check your TranScribe for the code - in our case, the code was 1129) to begin tracking Lockwood's body. You'll learn that his body can be found floating in the area outside of the station.
Fortunately, you don't have to "blindly" search through space around Talos I station because in order to find Lockwood's corpse you can use the crew tracking system that you already used in previous missions. Visit any Security Station (they are marked by a unique icon on the map of main areas of the station). Use a security computer, select the crew list and, in the list of people working in the Cargo Bay, find Grant Lockwood.
You can now use any airlock that allows you to leave the station and move to Talos I Exterior (if you are in the part of the game where Alex issued a lockdown then you should wait until it is removed during Reboot main quest). Fly to Grant Lockwood's corpse that are marked by the game and examine them. Among the random items you can find a suit chipset that allows you to travel faster in space and in zero gravity areas (a better thruster).
Do No Harm
This side mission can be unlocked once you've managed to unlock the main elevator and took care of Typhoon Telepath on level four of Talos I Lobby. Both actions are a part of Lift Interference, one of the side quests found in Arboretum (you can view the walkthrough in the "Arboretum" section of our guide).
Proceed to the room in which you've fought the telepath. Search the area for a corpse of Hendrik DeVries and loot him to find a keycard to his office. The keycard will enable you to visit a new room in Talos I Lobby.
Hendrik DeVries' Office can be found in the Trauma Center on level two of Talos I Lobby (he was the main surgeon on the station's staff). Watch out for new monsters that may have appeared in the area. Once you've reached the office, check the computer for e-mails - one of them will contain more details on our hero's psychological evaluation tests (screenshot above) - reading it will officially add the mission to your journal.
Don't leave the station yet - visit the Files tab and download DeVries' Decryption Key. Switch to your TranScribe and visit the Audio Logs tab to listen to a new file (Morgan's Breakdown - screenshot above).
The quest leads you to Mathias Kohl's Office, which is located nearby. Approach the station to read a few e-mails and listen to the available recordings. Finally, enter the last tab (Utilities) and restart the evaluation test.
Approach the second computer which is also a platform for conducting the evaluation test. You'll be left with a small riddle - your job is to choose the right answers according to the soundbite you had the opportunity to listen to at the beginning of the test. You can use the following answers: A, C, B, A, C. Passing the test unlocks a safe on the opposite wall containing a TranScribe device and 3 neuromods.
Help Luther Glass
The assignment begins in the final phase of the main story i.e. during either Keys to the Kingdom or Repo Man. Both these missions can be interrupted with a message from Luther Glass, who will ask for a face-to-face meeting.
Luther is stranded in Trauma Center found on level two of Talos I Lobby. However, if you've searched through the area beforehand, you've probably found out that Luther is already dead. As a result, you'll be aware that the message is just an ambush in place waiting for you.
You can proceed with the quest regardless of your knowledge on Luther. His body can be found in a circular ward inside the main room - you'll be engaged by military operators the moment you'll make visual contact with the body. The incoming operators can be taken on inside the trauma center, or you can retreat to the staircase and take them on one by one. The quest will end once you've defeated all operators - you can investigate the body itself to score a Neuromod.
