Shipping and Receiving | Main Story Prey Guide

Last update: 22 May 2017

In this page you can find a walkthrough for Shipping and Receiving mission found in Prey. This is one of the main story missions and you get it after you enter the Cargo Bay for the first time. You must meet with Sarah Elazar, unlock the Cargo Bay B and defeat Typhons inside of it (it is a bigger battle and the game allows you to prepare for it).

Meet with Security Chief Sarah Elazar

You start the mission in the Cargo Bay. You must watch out because in the central room you can find, in default, a few Phantoms and there can be some elite variants among them. You must reach the airlock that leads to Shipping and Receiving section. If there are no monster then Austin Cool, standing on the other side, will open the passage. Go past him and reach the Grav Shafts that are a little further.

Go to the level 2 and then move to the Security Office located in the north part of the map. There, you must speak with Sarah Elazar to get new objectives. You must bring the power back and acquire a turret fabrication plan that can be used to defeat a big group of Typhons (the objectives can be completed in any order).

Warning - While you are in the Security Office you can download the Cargo Bay's map. In the room you can also find, e.g. 4 neuromods.

Bring the power back to the Cargo Bay

Go back to the main room and head to the entrance to the Fuel Storage Bay in the north-east part of it. Going through the corridors is hindered by flames that you can't get rid of even by using the GLOO Cannon. The easiest way to solve this problem is to climb on the shelves and walk above the flames or you can go past them (while keeping a safe distance).

Cargo Power Control is adjacent to the Fuel Storage Bay and before you try to do anything there you must find and kill a Greater Mimic. You can now bring the power back. Besides continuing this mission you also unlock a recycler and a fabricator in the main room.

Find the turret fabrication plan

In order to retrieve the plan you must go to Talos I Exterior so go back to the airlock near which you started your exploration of the Cargo Bay. When you are in the space you must fly to the destroyed Security Office pointed by the game and inside of it you can find the fabrication plan. There is a Weaver nearby that you must get rid of first - remember to destroy his shield before you try to kill the monster. After defeating the Typhon find the safe and open it by using a randomly generated password given by Sarah (or you can use Hacking III). When you open the safe you get the Turret Fabrication Plan (you also get 2 neuromods).

Place the turrets in the Cargo Bay B's Loading Zone

The next objective gives you more freedom - Shipping and Receiving | Main Story - Main Story - Walkthrough - Prey Game Guide

The next objective gives you more freedom. You final goal is to place three turrets in Loading Zone near the Cargo Bay B in the Shipping and Receiving section - this area is presented in the picture above. All turrets must be placed within the blue and orange rectangle painted on the floor because only then the turrets are acknowledged by the game. The best place to put the two of them is in the corners and the third one in the center. Additionally, all three should be facing hte currently closed big door.

One of the turrets that you can find

There are two ways that allows you to get turrets. The first method is to find them in the area and take them back near the entrance to the Cargo Bay B. The turrets are in the following places:

  • One of the containers on the lower level of the Cargo Bay's main room
  • One of the storerooms in the Cargo Bay's main room - you can get there by doing a series of jumps or activating an elevator
  • The area near the entrance to Shipping and Receiving section - the turret is broken and must be fixed first
  • One of the side storerooms in Shipping and Receiving section - you can unlock it by using Gus Magill's computer
The second method is to craft turrets and this way is only for those players that dont want to lose their time for searching those objects - Shipping and Receiving | Main Story - Main Story - Walkthrough - Prey Game Guide

The second method is to craft turrets and this way is only for those players that don't want to lose their time for searching those objects. Head to the fabricator in the main room and find the turret on the list (the picture above). Sadly, crafting one turret is expansive because you must use 3 units of mineral materials and 3 units of synthetic materials.

Open the Cargo Bay B and defeat Typhons

When you place at least three turrets in the Loading Zone near the entrance to the Cargo Bay B you get the option to proceed further into the quest. Wait for Sarah Elazar and receive a password from her that unlocks the door. Make sure that you are ready for the upcoming big battle before you use the terminal near the door and enter the password.

The battle with Typhons shouldnt be very difficult but you must play it flawlessly if you want to get The Gates of Hell achievement - Shipping and Receiving | Main Story - Main Story - Walkthrough - Prey Game Guide

The battle with Typhons shouldn't be very difficult but you must play it flawlessly if you want to get The Gates of Hell achievement. In order to get it you must win the battle without anyone dying. You can start when the door are opening and attack them by using one of the psychic abilities (picture 1) or to throw, e.g. a Recycler Charger. Next, switch to your shotgun and attack the monsters while they try to enter the room with the survivors (picture 2). Try to stand to one of the sides so you won't be in the line of fire of one of the turrets.

After the battle you must listen to the last conversation. The mission is completed and you can continue the previously started main mission called The Keys to the Kingdom.
