Psychotronics | Side Quests Prey Guide
Last update: 22 May 2017
This page contains descriptions for additional quests in Prey that can be unlocked during your exploration of Psychotronics, one of the many areas on Talos I station. Finishing those missions is completely optional but thanks to them you can get valuable items.
Dr. Kelstrup's Neuromods
This quest is unlocked automatically during Detour main quest. When you get to the atrium in Psychotronics Alex Yu orders you to calibrated the recently acquired Psychoscope which means that you must scan a few Phantoms that are held inside of the pods. The reward for that is the password to Dr. Kelstrup's safe.
Director Kelstrup's Office is right next to the atrium and you can get there by breaking one of the windows that were glued by a GLOO Cannon. There, you must watch out for the broken electrical joint box that creates electrical discharges. You can glue it by using the GLOO Cannon and then fix it (Repair ability required) or you can just quickly complete the actions connected to the quest.
The items that you are searching for are in Kelstrup's safe presented in the picture. You can open it by the password given by Alex Yu (the password is generated randomly). Inside of the safe you find a pack of neuromods AND a Neuromod Fabrication Plan which allows you to craft new neuromods.
The Psychotronics Prisoner
You can get this quest when you reach the Material Extraction Lab located on level 2 of Psychotronics, in its east part. You can get there by following the corridor with flames, however the damaged pipes can be easily glued by using the GLOO Cannon.
In the Material Extraction Lab you can find a big cage with imprisoned Aaron Ingram. He asks you to open the cage. Before you make the decision you can check the terminal next to the cage and read volunteer record. By doing that you learn about Ingram's crimes.
This mission can be completed in two ways. The first variant is to free Ingram - you can do it by selecting the third option in the computer's menu that is located next to the cage. The man is thankful and he gives you the following password: 8714 which allows you to open the Armory. There, you can find weapons and ammo, an unused turret, a neuromod, Fabrication Plans for shotgun and pistol 9mm ammo and a weapon upgrade kit.
Warning - If your gameplay style involves killing everyone then, after getting the password to the Armory, you can kill Ingram. You can also skip the conversation with him because the password is always the same.
The second variant is to complete the Live Examination Procedure which results in Aaron Ingram's death. In order to do that you must select the second tab in the computer's menu. Then keep selecting the following options. When the Mimic completes its reproduction select the option to get the exotic materials. The Mimics in the cage are automatically converted into very valuable exotic materials (take them from the container) that are useful in crafting.
Million Dollar Caulk Gun
You can get this quest when you reach the Material Extraction Lab located on level 2 of Psychotronics, in its east part. You must find the corpse of Kristine Lloyd, presented in the picture, which are in the Material Extraction Lab. Near the corpse you can find a TranScribe device. Listen to the recording.
The new objective for this mission is to caulk the hull of Talos I station. Find the airlock in the Psychotronics that allows you to move to Talos I Exterior - you can find it on the level 3 between Lab A and Lab B. When you are in space you must fly to the pointed place (you should have this mission activated so you won't get lost). The hull can be caulked by using the GLOO Cannon - this action is presented in the picture above. Continue this process until you receive new objective.
Go back to the Psychotronics and head to the newly unlocked Material Storage Subject Holding (you can find it next to the place where you started the mission). Inside of it you can find a lot of exotic materials that are useful in crafting.
