Union Extortion (extortion racket) | Walkthrough Mafia III Guide

On this page you will find walkthrough for the large story mission "Union Extortion" in which you take over the union extortion racket in River Row and then give it to Vito. The final objective of this mission is to get rid of one of the lieutenants. The mission has optional objectives as well and all ways of weakening the enemy racket are presented further in the guide.

Meeting Jock Blanchard

Speaking to Jock will add points to the map related to weakening the extortion racket

You can go meet with Jock immediately after you save Vito. He can be found in the warehouse near the railroads. You must speak with him in order to weaken the union extortion racket managed by Andy Turetto.

Following the transports to the hideout

This objective is very unusual since it isn't related to any specific point on the map. While traveling through River Row, you must wait for an opportunity to attack the extortion money transport. It will be a red sports car and an example encounter is shown on the above picture.

Observe the bar at the top of the screen - each wrong action will fill it

Don't attack the hostile vehicle because this won't weaken the enemy racket. Instead of that, follow the enemies to their hideout in which large amounts of extortion money can be found.

While following the enemy vehicle, you cannot allow Turetto's men to see you or become scared. Keep a safe distance and remember about avoiding other actions that the enemies can notice - don't hit other vehicles or surroundings, don't ride over pedestrians and limit situations when someone horns at you after you perform a dangerous maneuver or suddenly get in front of another car.

Find the storeroom and steal the extortion money

Once you reach the hideout of the gangsters, leave your car. First you should eliminate the gangster marked by the game. You can easily lure him away from the rest by whistling. Then sneak up into the hideout and find the storeroom with the money. You can kill the gangsters that guard it in open fight, sneak up on them or simply get pass them unnoticed. Stealing the money should weaken the extortion racket by about 9000 dollars.

Sabotaging the union trailers

You must place the explosives inside the trailers

You can sabotage up to three trailers marked on your map. Each time you get close to a trailer, you plan how to get inside. If you want to eliminate the gangsters, remember that there might be many civilians nearby who will try to alarm the police (try stopping them from doing that).

Once you get inside the trailer, walk into the marked place and pres the interaction button in order to plant explosive. Leave the trailer and quickly move away - the explosion will alarm all nearby people.

Murdering Turetto's enforcers

You can kill the enforcers from distance or by getting close to them

Now you can murder the two enforcers. The first one is "Stitch" Gallo. By default he is harassing some union members in one of the side alleys. You can kill him with a precise shot or throw a grenade at him. However, the death of innocent union members can make someone call the police.

The second enforcer is Roberto "Bubs" Albano and you can find him at the warehouse in the eastern part of the district. He will be near the union members as well. You can eliminate his men one after another (you should quickly eliminate the sentry) or you can kill him with an accurate shot from distance.

Initiating a confrontation with Turetto

The narrow stairs will lead you near the boss

Once you weaken the extortion racket enough (actions related to Turetto are marked with orange points on the map), go back to Jock. He will point you to the union building at the docks where the boss you seek had appeared. Enter the docks through the main entrance. While exploring the area, you should sneak up since there are many sentries positioned around and they can easily call for reinforcements.

Andy Turetto can be found at the first floor of the main building. You can decide to use the side entrance. Once you're inside, you should find the small stairs leading to the first floor.

If you used the narrow stairs, you will get close to the office with Turetto (shown on the above picture). You should use whistling or Screaming Zemi to first convince the bodyguard and then Turetto himself to get close to the stairs. There you can take them down. Watch out for the opponent positioned nearby which patrols the whole floor and can notice you. Once you capture Turetto, you can decide whether you want to kill or recruit him.
