General information
Kuki Shinobu is a 4-star hero of Electro element fighting with a sword. When it comes to roles in the team, Shinobu can be built towards Sub DPS role that benefits immensely from elemental reactions or prepared towards the Support Healer role.
When building Kuki Shinobu, you should focus on increasing HP%, Elemental Mastery, and Energy Recharge.
Best team compositions
- Sub DPS-Beidou / Kuki Shinobu / Sucrose / Xingqiu
- Healer Support-Raiden / Yelan / Kazuha / Kuki Shinobu
Healer Support Build
To maximize the potential of this build, Kuki Shinobu needs a lot of HP, high Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge. This is mainly because casting her Elemental Skill which is the main healing ability of this character, consumes her health.
- Artifacts - 4x Ocean-Hued Clam/4x Maiden Beloved
- Weapons - Freedom-Sworn/Favonius Sword
The first recommended artifact pick is 4x Ocean-Hued Clam. It gives 15% bonus to Healing, and with full 4-Piece set, when healing allies, Sea-Dyed Foam will appear. For 3 seconds, it accumulates all healing done by Qiqi. After 3 seconds, it will explode, dealing damage equal to 90% of accumulated HP. This artifact set is more focused on explosive damage rather than permanent.
However, if you want to heal more efficiently and with less HP spent, you can decide on 4x Maiden Beloved. This set improves healing efficiency by 15%, and using Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst will make your party members receive 20% additional bonus to healing for 10 seconds.
When it comes to weapons, a 5-star Freedom-Sworn sword comes the most recommended. In addition to bonuses to Elemental Mastery and damage dealt, when Kuki Shinobu creates an elemental reaction, one stack will be gained. With two stacks, you get a 12-second boost: increased DMG ATK for normal, charged, and plunging attacks by 16%, and the overall ATK increased by 20%. Each member of the team receives this buff.
Alternative option for weapon can be Favonius Sword. The weapon bonus gives additional Energy Recharge. Moreover, critical hits have a 60% chance of spawning an Elemental Orb that after picking up gives 6 additional Energy. This effect may occur once every 12 seconds.
Sub DPS Build
Under the assumptions of this build, Kuki Shinobu will mainly focus on dealing damage through elemental reactions that occur when using her Elemental Skill.
- Artifacts - 4x Thundering Fury/4x Tenacity of the Millelith
- Weapons - Freedom-Sworn/Iron Sting
The first recommended pick for artifacts is 4x Thundering Fury. With this setup, your Electro damage will be increased by 15%. Additionally, if you cause a reaction such as Overload, Electro-Charge or Superconduct, the damage from these reactions will be increased by 40%. Finally, when such a reaction is created, the cooldown on Elemental Skill is lowered by 1 second.
Another viable artifact choice for this build is 4x Tenacity of the Millelith. This is mainly because of 20% bonus to HP awarded with the set. Additionally, when your Elemental Skill hits an enemy, the ATK of all nearby allies will be increased by 20% and their Shields by 30% for 3 seconds.
Similarly to the Support build, the best possible weapon for Sub DPS Kuki Shinobu is Freedom Sworn.
However, there are viable F2P alternatives, such as 4-star Iron Sting sword. With this weapon, not only do you gain Elemental Mastery thanks to secondary stat - dealing elemental damage will increase your damage dealt from any type of damage by 6% for 6 seconds, and this constitutes one stack (up to 2).
Talents
Talents are special abilities divided into Combat and Passive categories. In the case of Kuki Shinobu, you should focus on these talents in this order:

Constellations
Depending on the chosen build, you should focus on reaching following constellation levels:
- Healer Support - C2
- Sub DPS - C4
C2 extends the duration of Elemental Skill by 3 seconds, so you will inflict more damage and heal better.
C4 increases the power of Elemental Skill. When an ally is in range of this skill and attacks with a normal attack, with C4 you apply an AoE Electro attack that deals damage equal to 9.7% Kuki Shinobu max HP.
