Walkthrough:
This level is very similar to Lights Out from the first game. In default, the entire level is very dark. If you want to light up the area you must use fireflies that you can find on your path. Another hindrance is that fireflies will fly away after some time. Because of that you must hurry with reaching new safe areas.
As it was mentioned above, in this level you must use encountered fireflies. When you get closer to them they will follow Crash BUT only for a certain amount of time. Because of that you should try to not stop anywhere. Crates can be destroyed while you are walking and you can avoid enemies so you won't waste your time on killing them.
Each new group of fireflies waits near new crates or checkpoints. If you won't arrive there in time you can, in theory, walk in the dark but this is very risky because there are many small chasms in this level. The other source of light are certain robots but they always stay only in one place.
When you start the level you must follow the main path. Crates can be found in visible places so you don't have to check out the edges of the path and worry that you can miss some of them. Soon, you reach a pressure plate with a skull on the left, presented in the picture 1, that can take you on the Death Route. However, the plate is only active if you didn't die in this level yet.
When you start exploring the Death Route you must perform a long jump over a bigger chasm. On your way you can encounter new mice, lizards and robots. At the end of this path you can find a Clear Gem, presented in the picture 2.
Warning - When you get the Clear Gem it is worth to commit suicide intentionally. If you would decide on continuing your journey you would miss a chance to find crates on the right path. It should also be mentioned that you don't lose Gems when Crash dies.
When you return on the main path in this level you must reach the fork again, the one where you started the Death Route. However, this time you must choose the right path that you didn't explore yet. When you are on your way you can look out for new crates and avoid lizards and robots. Besides that you can also come across very visible (even in dark) Purple Gem.
The path that you currently follow will soon lead you to a question mark pressure plate, presented in the picture 1. This plate activates a bonus round. During it you must also be in a hurry and light up the area by using fireflies. Keep moving right and try to quickly destroy larger groups of regular crates. The ending, presented in the picture 2, is also challenging. Here, you must perform two slides under nitro crates. If a slide won't be enough to avoid them then you must quickly crouch and go right. There is a high probability that you will be moving in complete darkness in the very end of this level. Try to see levitating apples that will help you in avoiding holes.
After completing the bonus round you can continue walking on the main path. Among the things that you must avoid are nitro crates. When you are on your way you can look at the fork presented in the picture. You can quickly check the bottom left path because there you can find two additional crates.
Go back to the fork and move forward. You won't find any new surprises. The only thing that you must remember about is to hit a metal crate with an exclamation mark. This will detonate all nitro crates that you passed by earlier.
