Warframe - Resources Warframe Guide & Walkthrough

Last update: 09 May 2018

This chapter will tell you more about the role of resources in Warframe. You'll also learn how to acquire them quickly. To check which planet offers a given resource, visit the chapter on Planets.

Resources are items that can be looted from your opponents, found in chests, or looted from an object (e.g. a pressed piece of scrap that gives you some salvage after destroying it). Resources are needed for two things - crafting and to build objects in the Clan's Dojo. The resources are divided into a few categories, depending on their rarity, purpose, and the method of acquisition.

Resources are divided based on their rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare) and purpose, for example, Research, Navigators, Minerals or fish.

Farming Resources

Farming resources (so-called: grind) is a process of simply repeating a certain scheme or a mission in order to acquire needed items or resources as quickly as possible.

It is best to farm solo or with friends that also want to farm - otherwise the group may not be satisfied with the chosen activity. Infected missions have a tendency to create large amounts of enemies which increases the chance of looting the needed resource. Dark Sectors missions have increased drop chance. When engaging in farming, make sure to destroy everything that is found on your path - enemies, as well as chests. Ignis is a great choice that will help you achieve your goal, as well as Orthos Prime, Telos Boltace and some of the whips.

When it comes to Warframes, Nekros is the best choice for farming, as the warframe has the ability to desecrate - rip out additional items from your enemies. The ability has a 54% chance of enemies dropping additional items in the effective range of the ability. As a result, Nekros is the most often used Warframe for farming (The players themselves often call it "the farming frame") You can get more out of his ability by choosing other Warframes with similar farming abilities (e.g. Hydroid and Atlas). Unfortunately the remaining characters' abilities are a bit slower than Necros' ability. A typical farming team consists of "Speed Nova" (used to speed up opponents), Nekros, Hydroid and Trinity "Energy Vampire" (so the allies receive lowered cooldown periods of their skills). In such cases, the group searches for a free room on the map and brings opponents to it, eliminating them in progress.

Useful mods for farming:

  • Sentinel - Gatherer - finds and picks up items automatically, including mods. Has a limited range: 11,5m at a maximum.
  • Warframe - Thief's Wit - lights up all chests nearby and shows them on the minimap. Master Thief - chance of opening a chest automatically.

Plains of Eidolon - Resources

These particular resources appeared with the mission pack to Warframe - Eidolon Plains. In this location, there are a number of new resources to obtain: Grokdrul, Iradite, Maprico, Nistlepod, Condroc Wing, Kuaka Spinal Claw, Cetus Wisp, Breath of Eidolon, Eidolon Shard, Auron, Coprun, Ferros, Pyrol, Azuryt, Crimzian, Devar, Nyth, Sentirum, Veridos, Fish Oil, Fish Meat, Fish Scales.

Common, uncommon and rare resources

  1. Grokdrul - this resource is most common in Grineer Sites in Eidolon Plains. Also, you can obtain it thanks to Bounty and Incursion. You require it to construct several Zawss, Gara Neurooptics parts and an Archwing component, thanks to which you can steer Archwing across Eidolon.
  2. Iradite - just like in the above case, you can obtain it through Bounty and Incursion. The quickest way to obtain it is thanks to high-level Bounty. Required to build Warframe components, adornments, Zawss and to create fishing equipment.
  3. Maprico - grows on small trees (it looks much like orange or mango). Bounty and Incursion can also reward you with it. Required for Zaws and to baits.
  4. Nistlepod - you can find it in mountainous areas to the north of Eidolon. Also Bounty and Incursion reward you with it. Required for bait and to Zawss.
  5. Condroc Wing- can be obtained by killing vulture-like birds. Required for Zaws and to craft arcana. Condroc can be found on Er-Phryah to the south-west of the map.
  6. Kuaka Spinal Claw - dropped by one of the beasts in Eidolon Plains - Kuak - it resembles a rodent. The claw is required for Khora Neuroptics, arcana and Zaws.

Mining resources

  1. Auron - type of resources that you obtain from minerals on Eidolon Plains. Its only application is Auroxium Alloys. The alloy is used for Zaws.
