Last update: 24 May 2018
From this chapter, you will learn how Focus works and how using it may benefit you. This chapter discusses System Focus 2.0 in Warframe. In Warframe, there are 5 different schools of System Focus.
System Focus 2.0 is an updated version of Focus. It unlocks new abilities, the real power of Tenno. This option becomes available after quests The Second Dream, The War Within and a takze Say's Vigil (by default, 5 key activates the the Operator). Schools of Tenno represent various styles an the provide various active and passive bonuses. After The Second Dream, you will be able to choose your starting Focus school (also, you will receive a lens). The most universal and useful of the schools is Zenurik - it teaches regeneration of energy necessary to use Warframe ability. What makes the regeneration bonus useful is that you do not have to use energy orbs, additional items, nor Syphon Energy mod (this particular Aura mod restores a tiny amount of energy). In total, there are 5 schools:
- Madurai,
- Vazarin,
- Naramon,
- Unairu,
- Zenurik.
Separate chapters will discuss individual schools, alongside with detailed description of trees and statistics. The only way to develop a school is obtaining Focus Points. This is only possible if you mount your weapon with a special Lens and use that weapon. Rules are simple here - while fighting during a mission and you obtain Affinity, lenses convert a portion of your experience into Focus. For regular lenses, the converted amount is equal to 1.25%, for larger ones - 1.75% (40% more than regular), for Eidolon lenses - 2.25% (28.5% more than larger lenses). Once you unlock a Focus tree and mount a lens, you will occasionally find yellow Convergence Orbs during the mission (see: the screenshot) - in a way, this is a boost that will allow you to win Focus points faster (for the duration of 45 seconds). Collect them and kill out everything in your path (the best method is to kill entire groups of opponents).
One more condition to meet, before you start obtaining Focus Points, is your level - it has to be no lower than level 30, at the moment of mounting the lens. Daily limit for Focus points fo obtain is 250 000. Apart from spending points on abilities from a tree, each school has a predefined Pool. You have to remember to develop this parameter also, as you develop your school, or you will not be able to learn new abilities and upgrade ones you already have.
Madurai School has been designed for Tenno that favor offensive behavior. It also increases damage from the Operator.
Vazarin School is a defensive one - thanks to developing it, you will be able to ignore damage, you will have more health points and regeneration.
Naramon School specializes in melee combat. It provides bonuses to melee damage, to critical damage, to experience growth rate during melee combat. This is a perfect school for farming Focus .
Unairu School is a school that increases Warframe's and Operator's shields, as well as decreases offensive and defensive abilities of the enemies.
Zenurik School teaches battleground control. The main advantage of this school is that it provides large rate of energy regeneration for you and your allies. This school also provides benefits to Channeled Melee Attack. Followers of this school have more energy at their disposal and harvest more energy from energy orbs.
