The following page describes the strategies that you can apply to the Daemons of Chaos in Total War: Warhammer 3. You'll also learn about its lords as well as its army's strengths and weaknesses.
Units
Due to the specificity of the Daemons of Chaos, it is impossible to say exactly what your army should look like. This faction combines units of all demon races. This means that you have quite a lot of options.
With a little patience, you can create an army that will suit your playstyle. Use fast Slaanesh units, recruit Tzeentch ranged units, resistant and well-armored Nurgle flying units, or competent Khorne melee infantry.
Don't be afraid to combine units from different races to make up for their factional shortages. For example, Khorne's demons lack ranged units, but you can fix that when they are a part of the Daemons of Chaos. All you need to do is recruit ranged Tzeentch units.
The only weakness of your army is the artillery, which unfortunately consists only of the Skull Cannon. It is a combination of a cannon and a melee unit.
However, you should still remember about units that are effective against armor (armor penetration). Fortunately, you have many units with this trait, for example, the Beast of Nurgle, Rot Flies, Bloodletters of Khorne, or Slaanesh's cavalry units.
The reason for the above advice is that the Daemons of Chaos start near the lands of Kislev, and automatically are at war with it. This means that you will have to face well-armored units of this faction quite quickly.
Battle strategy
Your battle strategy should largely be based on the units you have in your army.
Due to the variety of the available units, you can try virtually all tactics. Charge at your opponent directly with strong melee units. Flank the enemy with fast cavalry/beasts. Wait for your ranged units to weaken the approaching enemy. Attack enemy troops with flying monsters that can quickly get anywhere on the battlefield.
Here are some basic tactics that you have to remember. Units with shields and good armor should draw the enemy's attention, while fast units should attack the enemy's flanks/archers.
If you have a lot of shooters, use them to weaken the enemy first. Place them at the forefront of your army.
Flying units are very mobile. Use them to support the situation on the breaking section of the front, or attack the spellcasting/shooting units behind enemy lines to relieve your main forces.
Lords
Daemons of Chaos have one legendary lord. You can learn about this character's history in the game's prologue (read more about it on the Prologue page).
You can name this character yourself. The name can either be randomized (with the button next to it) or typed from scratch. You also create this character during the game (more about it on a separate page: Unique Mechanics), so his skills and his role in your army depends largely on you.
In addition, the Daemons of Chaos also have a wide variety of lords and heroes from all other demon factions. You can find many magic specialists and melee experts among them.
