Total War Warhammer 3: Good starting faction Total War Warhammer 3 guide, walkthrough

On this guide page you will learn what faction is good to start playing Total War Warhammer 3.

On this page of the guide, you will learn which faction is best to start playing Total War Warhammer 3 with.

Kislev

Kislev seems to be the best choice for your first adventure with Total War Warhammer 3. It's a very balanced faction. It has strong infantry that can withstand enemy attacks, but at the same time most units also have bows and pistols, so they can decimate the enemy units before they even get to you. Therefore, they also can take on enemy flying units.

Additionally, Kislev has a solid cavalry - both on horseback and on bears. This way, you can perform flanking maneuvers or attack the enemy from the back in no time at all. Additionally, the Kislev forces include a powerful elemental bear that towers over the battlefield.

This faction also has a fairly good starting position. In fact, for a long time you should only expect enemies to come in from the north. Later in the game, the vampires from the south may become a slight problem, but then they shouldn't be too much of a threat.

Additionally, Kislev can eventually have up to 3 legendary lords in its forces (it is related to the story progress). Each of them is a powerful unit with huge bonuses on his own.

Daemons of Chaos

However, if you are an experienced player, and you are looking for an "adventure" with demons, the Daemons of Chaos faction will be the best choice for you, as it combines all the other demonic groups.

When playing the Daemons of Chaos, you can sacrifice settlements to different gods, which gives you access to their buildings and units (as long as you have the appropriate level of devotion on top of that) - Total War Warhammer 3: Good starting faction - Basics - Total War Warhammer 3 Guide

When playing the Daemons of Chaos, you can sacrifice settlements to different gods, which gives you access to their buildings and units (as long as you have the appropriate level of devotion on top of that). This means that within this one faction you will also get a taste of playing Khorn, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Tzeentch. You'll be free to compose your own army of chaos . It's up to you whether you want to take something from each deity, or fully devote yourself to one.

The starting position of this faction is also quite convenient. You will start out on a peninsula controlled by Chaos devotees. They are easy to subjugate or make allies with; afterwards, you can move on - either east, towards the naturally hostile Kislev, or south across the sea towards the realms of humans and elves.
