Expansion space - northern site This place can be reached only by air, but it's also exactly why it will be a long time before you'll have to bother defending this additional base. You should set up a base here as soon as you can to increase resource acquisition.
Expansion space - western site Additional deposits can be found on the small island south of your base. There are few enemies on the plateau and you can easily deal with them using your air force.
Small Protoss Base This location host a dozen+ Dragoons and several Reavers. The send type of enemy unit is defenseless against flying units but will butcher your ground forces (especially Zerglings). The base has a building used to produce Reavers, but if you destroy it, the enemy will rebuild it in the main base. This location should be attacked as last, right before your assault on the main enemy base.
Protoss fortifications The enemy here has two turrets and a group of Dragoons. A massive land assault supported by air force should deal with this checkpoint quickly, before the enemy sends in additional units, including Reavers.
Southern side of the main Protoss base Send your air force here. Groups of Mutalisks and Guardians should fly past this locations, to the corner of the map. Attack only enemy Scouts, leave the turrets alone for now.
Mineral deposit in the main Protoss base Have your Guardians open fire from here and focus on destroying enemy workers and Nexus. Mutalisks' job is to repel enemy air and ground attacks, protecting the bombers.
Mission objectives:
Exterminate the protoss intruders; Kerrigan must survive. Kerrigan's psionic powers have increased. In this way, she discovers that some of the protoss commanded by Tassadar are still hiding on Char. She decided to destroy the protoss despite the warnings of other zerg generals. Back to the Char, then.
Large groups of Zerglings and Hydralisks can easily deal with Dragoons and Zealots. However, more than one Reaver can repel even large squads of Zerglings. Flyers are a must to destroy them.
In this mission, you encounter a new enemy, Reaver. It is a powerful mechanical unit of the protoss. They can attack only land units but deal great area-of-effect damage. One Reaver can destroy a team of Zerglings/Hydralisks. The zerg also get a new unit - a mutated version of Mutalisk: Guardian. This bomber has a large range and also deals area-of-effect damage but attacks only land units . The protoss rely mostly on Dragoons and Reavers in this mission. Despite the fact that the former are numerous, you will be focusing on creating powerful air force which is very useful in achieving victory.
At the beginning, train a lot of workers and upgrade the Hatchery to Lair and then Hive. Research transportation technologies for Overlords and create an additional base on the eastern plateau (1). Clear out the southern plateau, as well (2) . There are only Zealots and a Reaver there. Your starting air force should deal with this task without a problem. Build another base and start extracting gas - you will need a lot of it to produce air forces. To build Guardians, you need to upgrade a Spire to Great Spire. From now on, you can evolve Mutalisks to Guardians. They change into a cocoon for a while and then a bomber hatches out. The process takes a moment so it's a good idea to start the transformation in a safe place, for example, in the base. It's also a good idea to have several Queens for infesting hostile transporters and using Spawn Broodlings to eliminate Dragoons immediately.
A group of Mutalisks can easily destroy Reavers and stop a counterattack by Scouts or Dragoons.
The enemy has the main base in the top right corner of the map and two small defensive facilities. Expand your air force until you have a full team of Mutalisks and Guardians. Keep your fighters in reserve, optimally: in the middle. Destroy hostile forts with bombers - start with the northern one where the building that produces Reavers is located (3) . Once it's destroyed, the enemy will start to rebuild it in their base so use this moment for another land assault, for example, send a swarm of Zerglings to the southern base (a large number of Dragoons) and support their attack with flyers (4) . The enemy will be using singular transporters and fighters. Mutalisks can easily deal with them.
A group of Guardian bombers can easily deal with lesser groups of hostiles and fortifications, but they are completely defenseless against enemy fighters. Keep a Mutalisk squad in reserve.
Having cleared out the enemy facilities, attack the main base of the protoss (5). It's best to send you air force to the lower edge of the map and fly all the way past mineral deposits (6). From this position, destroy the Nexus . Now, send infantry to attack the western part of the base and support it with bombers. Keep destroying the base, and if Reavers arrive, withdraw the infantry and destroy them with flyers. Now, you can focus on destructing buildings and units again. Once the enemy base has been destroyed, Tassadar will keep his promise and will be waiting to duel Kerrigan in the center of the map. Transport Kerrigan to this island and watch the cut scene.
