Reception desk
Your first task is to reach the reception desk. After a short conversation, you will have access to your room 221. It is located in the right part of the building, on the first floor. You can get to it using any stairs. The first floor is linked by a corridor, so you can move around freely. At this point you have access to the entire main part of the hotel, but not to the rooms of individual guests. You don't have to hurry if you want to explore the area first.
Room 221
After receiving the information about the room, go upstairs. There's an employee in front of your room, who will inform you that the room is still being cleaned, and therefore, you can't use it yet. It'll give you plenty of time to explore the hotel.
Medium
While exploring the hotel, Watson will notice the information about the medium. There's a performance tonight. John wants to see it, claiming that they have nothing better to do anyway.
Portrait
When you look at the information about the medium, an artist will come up to you. He wants to sketch a portrait of Sherlock. You can't say no to him. After a short conversation, you will receive your portrait.
Waiting for the medium
Jon wants to wait for the medium. You need to sit at the table he chooses. Keep in mind that in order to sit at the table, you have to complete all the aforementioned steps. Let's restate them and add a few new ones:
- First you need to talk to the receptionist;
- Then with the employee at room 221;
- Then you'll see the poster announcing the medium;
- You'll let the artist sketch you;
- You'll talk to John;
- You'll get ceviche from the bar.
Only then will John show you an empty seat at the double table, right by the window.
Cane
A wooden, decorated cane is on your table. You need to examine it to find out who it belonged to. Three points should be examined:
- the gold handle,
- the pattern in the middle of the cane,
- the gold element with a symbol.
After a thorough look at it, you need to find its owner.
Questioning the guests
After selecting the task in the log you'll be able to ask the guests who sat at the table earlier.
You can first ask the receptionist about the owner of the cane, which will give you an achievement - Poor Sportsmanship.
You can get the information about the guest sitting at the table from the woman standing at the bar. From her you will learn that the man is a navy officer. He went out to get some air.
Navy officer
The officer is standing outside the hotel. You'll see him to the left of the front door, by the black metal fence. You'll surely notice him, he's a big man in a suit who stands alone and doesn't talk to anyone. He'll tell you that the owner of the cane went to the seance room.
Entering the seance room
Once you find out who owns the cane, you can go to the seance room. Watson will already be at the door, and he'll most likely call you there. However, you can go there much sooner, once you find out who owns the cane.
