This page of the guide to Sherlock Holmes Chapter One provides a walkthrough of the quest A Gilded Cage. We described what you need to do in the boat workshop. You'll find it right next to the harbor. Here, you'll find the second element needed to get the Everyone's a Critic trophy.
- Getting to the workshop
- Boat
- Warehouse
- Whirlpool
- Return to the warehouse
- Paul
- Enemies
- Paul and evidence
- Imogen
Getting to the workshop
Your task is to go to the harbor area. It is located in the Grand Saray district, east of the hotel.
When you get to that area, you'll see a fountain and an elegantly dressed man. Ask him about the person in Imogen's picture. He'll lead you to the workshop.
The workshop is located south of the harbor. We marked it on the map above, so you can easily get there. It's really close to the hotel. If you got to that area, you'll be able to get to the workshop within a minute. As long as you're not distracted by the sights around you.
You don't need a key or a special invitation to the workshop. Just run inside and no one will notice.
Boat
Start exploring the area by investigating the boat, which is in to docks to the right of the building. You'll find the player's name on it. This is just one of many small clues that you will find here.
Warehouse
When you're done with the boat, head to the warehouse. You need to check the fog horn, which is hidden in the red box. You'll surely notice it as soon as you enter this room.
There's another important item in the warehouse. It's a small clue that won't do much for the whole case. However, it's definitely worth collecting. The book is in the corner, between the wooden boxes.
This is the second book you can get during this mission.
The book is necessary to get the Everyone's a Critic trophy. More information about this trophy can be found on a separate page of our guide.
Whirlpool
You can't get into the room right away. The first thing you have to do is look out the window to see the bloodied material. It will catch Sherlock's attention.
A new task will show up in your file. Mark it so Sherlock can see the next clue. If you don't, you won't get into the room.
After examining the door to the room, you need to go back a bit and check the name plate. Take it, turn it over, and take the "hidden" key. This way, you will open the door to the new room without any problems.
Inside, you have to investigate a few things. Start with the wooden bookshelf. It contains:
- strychnine darts,
- tree cutting tool,
- books.
Move to the opposite side of the room. There you will see a small wooden desk, and on it:
- boat conversion plans,
- letter from Mr. Gilden,
- a note on top of one of the results,
- Whirlpool results.
Return to the warehouse
After checking the cabinet, you will get a new task. Mark it to move on. After selecting the task correctly (we showed it on the screenshot above), go back to the warehouse. This time you will see a unique container on the shelf. Examine its lid and interior.
Paul
If you've gathered all the clues and left the warehouse, you should meet a new person. You need to look at them carefully. Pay attention to:
- the lack of Adam's apple;
- swollen right elbow;
- bandage on the left palm;
- wide hips.
The correct answer is Professional yachtswoman.
Enemies
After a short conversation with the woman, opponents will appear. You need to defeat them all to return to your previous task. Don't worry about your companion - she hid in the room to stay safe during the fight. Remember that the game prefers arresting over killing the enemies. You'll see it in the mission's results and on Jon's face. For more information about your friendship with Jon, see a separate page in our guide - Jon - does the relationship with him affect the ending.
Paul and evidence
Return to Paul after defeating all enemies. She is waiting in the room where you found most of the clues. It's time to ask her about everything she knows.
Here you can ask almost everything. You can cover the following topics:
- animal suspect,
- traces near the shed.
- Ivory Baths Construction plan,
- Bazookaeology Trilogy,
- Photo of Imogen,
- Paul's box of darts,
- Suspicious note,
- Packed Bags.
Imogen
After talking to the woman, it is worth going to Imogen to present her with new evidence about her father's death.
The things you need to discuss with the deceased man's daughter are:
- Suspicious note,
- Threats in envelope.
Then leave the house and go to the excavation site.
