Resident Evil 7: Main House: Main Hall walktrough
Last update: 03 September 2020
Main hall connects all areas in the house, including the entrance to the upper level and the hallway to the basement. Your goal is to get outside but in order to do this you must get three dog heads that, after placing them in the front door, allows you to open the door. In this stage you can get a shotgun.
First dog's head
You are in the main hall. Again, pick up the phone. To go further you must solve a few small puzzles that will allow you to escape from the house. You must get three figures depicting a wolf's head and place them in the door.
He's Here, There, Everywhere! - destroy a Mr. Everywhere statue (the one with moving head) on the table near the door to main hall or any other figure in any place.
First, approach the clock against the wall. It is on the opposite site from where you came from. Take its pendulum. Now, go back to the living room in the first part of the house, where you can find a similar clock and put the newly acquired item there - instead of the pendulum a figure of wolf's head will appear. Take it and place it in the front door in the main hall.
Second dog's head
The second head is in the recreational room on the second floor. You should be safe here (if you follow the order from this guide). In the south part of the room you will find a book on a shelf, an orange one that can be opened. Inside, you will find the second head. Go back to the front door and place it there to free up some space in your inventory.
Optional: "Mia" tape - escape from Marguerite
The Recreation Room on the first floor contains a VHS tape signed "Mia" and a video recorder - play the tape. During the recording, you are pursued by Jack's wife. Proceed through the nearest door to a narrow corridor containing a crate. Hide behind it, and wait until the woman moves away.
Once you reach the projector room, hide behind the exit door (on its right side), and wait until Marguerite leaves the room. Once the area is clear, approach the projector and use the statuette. Now you have to rotate the statuette until the created shadow corresponds with the pattern on the wall. A successful attempt will open a secret passage.
You should emerge in another room. Hide behind a heap of wooden furniture found in the middle. Crouch and go around it - when the woman is on the other side, find a hole in the floor, and enter it. Cross through a small tunnel - the recording should end now. You'll also receive a trophy - Can't Catch Me.
Now, proceed through the hall to enter the first floor and cross through the open door to the left. Enter the Bathroom. An Antique Coin can be found in the toilet bowl. Additionally, drain the water in the bathtub to find a Wooden Statuette.
Watch out - taking the statuette means being attacked by Jack. However, this time he is rather "vulnerable" - a few headshots, and he is gone for a longer while (not that long, so visit the bathroom in the end)
The statuette you found has to be placed in the Main Hall, in a small niche containing the projector. Once again, rotate the object until its shadow corresponds with the pattern seen on the wall. This will unlock a secret passage which also works as a safe haven. You'll receive a trophy - Nice Try - if you attempt to place a different object on the pedestal.
You'll find a new item inside - Psychostimulants which help in finding items by flagging them with markers (one dose works for a few minutes). Using psychostimulants will unlock a new trophy - Open Your Eyes
