Resident Evil 7: Just Get Me Outta Here - Trophy/Achievement Guide
Last update: 03 September 2020
Requirement: Complete the game in under 4 hours.
Comment: This is a quite challenging achievement that requires you to get familiar with the game. Here are some basic tips on doing a good speedrun:
- Play on the Easy difficulty level and try to finish the game at least once prior to your first attempt. Doing this will give you access to a good new gun (Albert-01R) and, most importantly, you'll know what to expect, where to go and how to quickly deal with problematic situations.
- After the boathouse fight consider giving the cure to Mia so that you won't have to waste additional time on fighting her later on in the game.
- Don't waste time on finding collectibles and don't fight enemies unless it's absolutely necessary. This applies especially to the creatures from the basement of the main house and to the monsters from the ship. You can run past most of them or quickly choose an alternative path to get around them. Make an exception only if you have plenty of ammo for the shotgun or for the 44 Magnum and if you can quickly dispose of a monster with 1-2 shots.
- SAVE OFTEN and return to the last manual save if you feel that you've spent too much time in one section.
If you don't make any major mistakes you should finish the game on Easy in less than 3 hours so there's a lot of time to spare.
VERY IMPORTANT - Returning to the last checkpoint still counts towards the total play time and this means you can lose a lot of precious minutes. The only way to "reset" the timer is to choose 'End' from the pause menu and then to load one of the manual saves from the game's main menu. You can check your current time in the 'Stats' window and it's also displayed in the descriptions of all of your savegames.
Important - Completing a 4 hour speedrun will give you access to a circular saw. This is an extremely useful weapon and it may come in handy when doing a playthrough on the Madhouse difficulty setting.
