How to unlock all weapons in Resident Evil 2? Resident Evil 2 Guide and Walkthrough

Each of the heroes in Resident Evil 2 - Claire and Leon - have a completely different set of weapons. This is a big plus: playing the plot with the second hero has a strong influence on the difficulty of the game. However, you will find the basic weapons in the same places as in the case of a different story. In this chapter we will describe where to find and how to unlock all weapons in Resident Evil 2 for Claire and Leon. Note - the basic weapon in 2nd Run mode is different from the default weapon (the rest, however, remains unchanged).

GM 79 Grenade Launcher / W-870 Shotgun
The first weapon that you're going to unlock is the W-870 shotgun (Leon) or GM 79 Grenade Launcher (Claire). To unlock them, get a blue key of spades (story item) and get to the Art Room, 1F, eastern part of the Police Station. On the tables lies a Key Card.
Use the Key Card in Safety Deposit Room - by using it you will open the last cabinet that contains a new weapon and some ammunition..
- Both weapons are very powerful and you will often find ammunition for them. To do this, combine High-Grade Gunpowder with Gunpowder.
Lightning Hawk / UZI MQ 11
Another puzzle that unlocks new weapons can be solved only after passing through the Police Parking and returning to the Police Station. From the first floor you will go through a staircase to the ground floor, where you will find the Interrogation Room. Inside you will find a decorated box.
Get to the Library. Near the door that lead to the Main Hall, on the table, lies a red book. Take it to Art Room. Grab a stone arm that lies on the table and combine it with red book with your inventory. Place it in the statue. You will get a Scepter - examine it in your inventory and get a red jewel from it, which you can use for ornated box.
You will get a badge from the box. Examine it - you will find the USB port in the badge. Go with it to the Armory, 2F, west. Insert the badge with dongle into the computer and click on the monitor. The armory will open and you will receive a new weapon.
- The MQ 11 has a magazine of 26 cartridges that spread very quickly: the weapon deals little damage and is not accurate (until you mount a silencer).
- Ammo for this type of weapon can be created by combining 2x High-Grade Gunpowder.
JMB Hp3 Pistol (Claire)
At the police parking lot go to the Shooting Range. There you will find a yellow box on the table. Open the box and you will find the car keys inside.
Go to the parking lot and press the button on the remote control key: the boot of the police car will open (its lights will blink), and in the trunk you will find the JMB Hp3 Handgun. This weapon is only available for Claire - Leon will find the Lightning Hawk upgrade here.
- This weapon can replace a revolver - it uses standard 9mm ammunition. It has a larger magazine and is more accurate (it has a laser viewfinder).
- For this weapon you will find an upgraded magazine with a larger capacity in a the safe located in the Waiting Room, at the Police Station.
Chemical Thrower / Spark Shot
You will find more weapons in the next part of the game: during the journey through the sewers. Weapons can be found in the Lower Sewer - they will hang on the wall of a closed room: Claire will receive a Spark Shot; Leon, a Chemical Thrower. It's hard to miss this weapon and it's very easy to find: you'll come to this location in search of plugs to open the closed gate. All you need to do is use one of the plugs found there (King Chess Plug) to open the door.
- You can't create ammunition for these weapons - you can only find them in small amounts.
Minigun (Claire)
Minigun can be unlocked during the last boss fight on the train and only by Claire. When you run away from Sherry to where the yellow locomotive stands, you have to take an element from it that you will place at the station next to it in order to activate the machine. The mini-gun simply lies on the table and it will help you in fight with the final boss.
Rocket Launcher (Leon)
When you play as Leon, at the end of the game - during the last battle with the Tyrant, Leon receives a rocket launcher to defeat the final boss. After defeating your opponent, you still have to reach the evacuation point: this is the perfect time to smash a few zombies with this weapon to unlock achievement for killing a pack of zombies with a rocket.
