How to get gems?
Depending on the type, gems in Diablo Immortal can be obtained in different ways:
- Normal gems: can be earned as Battle Pass rewards, for completed Bounties, or by exploring Hidden Lairs. Normal gems can also be purchased with Hilts from the respective merchant. It is worth noting here that if you are playing in a 4-person team, normal gems can drop everywhere.
- Legendary gems: can be found in Rifts or crafted at the Jeweler (requires a certain number of runes). Note here that 5-star legendary gems cannot be crafted directly - instead use FA runes to create a random legendary gem with a star rating of 1 to 5. Legendary gems can also be obtained as a Battle Pass reward and purchased with premium currency.
How to use gems?
Using gems in Diablo Immortal is very simple and intuitive:
- Normal gems: can be used on all items that have the matching socket color, e.g. rubies require a red socket and sapphire blue.
- Legendary gems: unlike normal gems, legendary gems can be used up to 6 gear elements at the same time: weapons, armor, leg armor, boots, gloves, helmet, shoulder armor.
How to upgrade gems?
All types of gems can be upgraded in Diablo Immortal, and it's really simple:
- Normal gems: you can increase their rank by using three gems of the same type to get one better gem - this method can be used up to rank 5. To increase the rank of a normal gem from 6 to 10, you will need to use special materials called Echo Crystal.
- Legendary gems: these gems can be upgraded with Gem Fragments. You will need 5 Gem Fragments to upgrade one legendary gem to a higher rank.
