On this page of the Diablo Immortal guide, you can read about the available difficulty levels, what Hell is and how to change the current difficulty level. You will learn if the difficulty level affects the availability of activities and side quests.

Diablo Immortal offers 5 difficulty levels. By default, the game is played on the Normal level. You will unlock Hell 1 when you reach level 60. Until then, it is worth completing the main story, as it must be played on the Normal difficulty level (so you will have to switch the difficulty level and get less experience for the quests).

To change the difficulty level, once you reach level 60, you will see a skull button in the upper right corner of the map. You can only change the difficulty level while in Westmarch. When you change the level, it will apply to the whole world and the available events, but not always to the dungeons - if you take someone under level 60 into your party, you won't be able to do that dungeon on the Hell level.

Very important: some activities, such as Hydra and Side Quests, are available only at levels higher than Normal.
