This page of the DBD guide contains a description of the Killer - The Artist. On this page, you will find a description of the perks and powers she possesses.
Basic information
An artist is a Killer who can deal damage at a distance. However, this requires a great deal of accuracy and the ability to predict Survivor behavior.
- Name: Carmina Mora;

Powers and perks
The unique power of The Artist is called Birds of Torment. It is an extremely oppressive and versatile skill. However, it requires a certain amount of skill and needs to be mastered. Hence don't worry if you don't get it right the first time.
By pressing the button responsible for activating it, you can deploy up to three birds (some add-ons modify this). At this point, they are inactive. When a Survivor runs into one of them, they will activate and surround the person who touched them.
However, you can activate them yourself. As a result, they will fly in a straight line from the point they are deployed. They have no specific range and rush across the map. Thus, you can even control generators located on the other side of the map - merely regularly send birds in their direction.
If the ravens hit a Survivor located at a long distance, they will surround them and illuminate their aura. They will remain visible as long as they won't be driven off. The moment you hit a Survivor already attacked by birds with your power, you will deal damage.
The moment you hit a Survivor who is close to the birds (e.g. on the other side of the pallet), you will immediately injure him. That's why they are great for breaking loops.
When you don't hit a Survivor directly, all is not lost. If he is close enough, you will still receive notification of his location.
As for the Artist's unique perks, there is nothing to complain about here either. This is because she has very powerful perks, which can wreak havoc when properly incorporated into a build.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance. | At the beginning of the game, 4 Hex Hooks appear on the map. If you hook a Survivor on one of them, the generator with the higher progression will explode and lose 9/12/15% of repair progression. The survivors working on the generator will scream, but their position will not be revealed.
Grim Embrace | Each time a survivor is hooked for the first time, you get a Token. After collecting four, the perk activates:

Hex: Pentimento | Allows to "resurrect" destroyed totems as Rekindled. For each of them, you will receive a Token:

How to play The Artist?
The main goal of The Artist is to put pressure on Survivors. If you do not use Corrupt Intervention, you will have some difficulty doing so in the early stages of the game, as the number of generators far exceeds the capacity of your power. It is then best to choose the three generators furthest away and send birds to them. You can watch the other four in a standard way.
In later phases, your tasks will become easier as the number of generators decreases, and it will be simpler to control them. Keep the same tactic here - send the birds towards the generators furthest away from you.
When you chase a Survivor, you also have to use your power. The moment you enter a loop that is difficult for you, you can deploy ravens by the pallet or windows and release them the moment a Survivor is across from them. You can do it in two ways:
- Deploy them along the wall to which the window or pallet is adjacent and launch the birds when a Survivor jumps over it;
- Deploy them perpendicularly to the jump places and activate the birds when a Survivor is opposite.
Then they will either receive damage from birds or leave the loop to avoid being hit. In the case of the latter option, you will have time to catch up with the victim before they reach the next safe point.
Exemplary build
The Artist is able to watch the generators very carefully. This is due to her power. You can use her to send ravens to generators and check if someone is fixing it at the moment.
The optimal build, which will work extremely effectively with the Artist, is as follows.
Icon | Perk | Effect |
Barbecue & Chilli | After hanging a Survivor on a hook, the auras of Survivors more than 60/50/40 meters away from you will be revealed for 4 seconds.
Dead Man's Switch | After hooking a Survivor, the perk activates for 20/25/30 seconds. During this time, if a Survivor stops repairing the generator, it will be blocked by the Entity.
Corrupt Intervention | At the beginning of the match, the three generators furthest from the Killer are blocked for 80/100/120 seconds. The perk deactivates when the first Survivor enters Daying State. |
The build unleashes the full potential of The Artist. The Corrupt Intervention blocks the generators in the initial phase of the game, so you will be able to put pressure on the Survivors working on them.
The synegry of two perks, Pain Resonance and Dead Man's Switch, is also an important factor here. When you hook a survivor on a Scourge Hook, a survivor working on the generator will automatically stop, and the Dead Man's Switch will block him.
Meanwhile, send birds towards the other generators - if a survivor is repairing it, and you hit him with your power, chances are good that they will start running away in fear of being hit again. At this point, Dead Man's Switch will also block the generator.
The entire build closes Barbecue & Chilli, which allows you to see Survivors. You can use it and send ravens in their direction.
