This DBD guide page describes the most effective builds for stealth. The following perks list will help you become harder to detect.
You have variety of options for stealth builds. There are several perks in the game that will allow you to hide your presence. You can efficiently hide from killers using them. Below you will find three sample ability sets.
Stay injured and disappear
The build allows you to easily disappear from the view of a killer after receiving damage from them. It presents as follows.
Icon | Perk | Effect |
Lucky Break | After receiving damage, the survivor's blood trail and scratch marks are suppressed for a total of 40/50/60 seconds. The perk deactivates after entering Dying State or being healed. You can use this effect a couple of times if you heal fast enough. In addition, for every second you heal others, you will receive an extra second for the duration of this ability.
Parental Guidance | After stunning a killer, the perk suppresses scratch marks, pools of blood, and grunts of pain for 5/6/7 seconds.
Overcome | After receiving damage, the speed bonus lasts longer by 2 seconds. It also imposes Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
Bite the Bullet | You don't make any noises during healing. In addition, a failed Skill Check doesn't trigger a notification and regresses healing by 3/2/1%. |
In this perk set, you get a great speed bonus after you receive damage. In addition, your scratch marks and pools of blood are suppressed. So you can use elements of the environment to disappear from the view of a killer.
To use the full potential of the following build, you have to have a Med-Kit. Then, as soon as you get out of sight of the killer you can start to heal. That way, you will muffle the grunts of pain and become completely undetectable. Of course, there is a counter-perk for killers. It's called A Nurse's Calling, which reveals the Auras of healing survivors.
Silent vaults
This build allows you to distance and hide your tracks by vaulting windows. For it, you should use the following perks.
Icon | Perk | Effect |
Dance With Me | Every time you vault over a window or pallet and leave a locker, your scratch marks are suppressed for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 60/50/40 seconds
Quick & Quiet | Every time you make a rushed vault over a window or pallet and enter a locker, the Loud Noise Notification is suppressed. Cooldown: 30/25/20 seconds
Lithe | After a rushed vault, you start a sprint at 150% of your normal running speed, which lasts 3 seconds. Causes Exhausted Status Effect lasting 60/50/40 seconds.
Windows of Opportunity | It shows pallets and vault sites within a 24/28/32 meter radius of you. |
In this build, you benefit from the synergy of three perks - Lithe, Dance With Me and Quick & Quiet. In this combination, you can make silent rushed vaults while receiving a speed bonus and suppressing scratch marks.
So all you have to do is pefrom a rushed vault during a chase. In this way, you will be able to confuse a killer and, in the best-case scenario, flee the chase. However, if you fail, you will still gain distance to prolong your escape.
The fourth perk in the set can be completely arbitrary. We've chosen Windows of Opportunity because it allows you to see where the nearest vault sites are.
Undetectable
This build allows you to effectively hide from a killer. It will make sneaking more efficient, and your character, even if injured, will not make too much noise.
Icon | Perk | Effect |
Urban Evasion | Crouching speed is as fast as walking speed. If uninjured, you get an additional 10/12/15% to your movement speed.
Iron Will | Reduces the volume of grunts of pain by 25/50/75%. The perk doesn't work when the Exhausted Status Effect is imposed.
Self-Aware | You walk 10/15/20% faster and are able to see your own scratch marks.
Lightweight | Reduces the visibility time of scratch marks by 3/4/5 seconds. Additionally, they are placed irregularly. |
A strongly underrated but powerful build. You will be able to see your scratch marks thanks to this perk arrangement. Thus, you can control the most important thing influencing how killers target you. In addition, you are able to move very fast while crouching and reduce your chances of being spotted.
The easiest way to use this build is to stun a killer with a palette, run away to a place the opponent can't see, and walk to hide scratch marks.
Interfering Aura reading
This build allows you to limit Aura detection by killers. In this way, if a killer use perks to locate survivors, they have a limited options.
Icon | Perk | Effect |
Distortion | When the Aura is about to be revealed to the killer, the perk activates, and 1 Token is consumed. For the next 6/8/10 seconds, the Aura and scratch marks won't be visible to the killer. You start with 3 tokens. Additional ones can be earned for being within a terror radius of the killer.
Boon: Shadow Step | After the totem is blessed, within 24 meters of the totem area is created where survivors do not leave scratch marks. In addition, the killers' skills based on detecting people don't work on those within a totem radius.
Technician | After failing a Skill Check, the generator doesn't explode and the killer doesn't get the notification. At the same time, regression penalty is increased by 5/4/3%.
Alert | Every time a killer destroys an object, their Aura is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds. |
In this build, a killer using Aura reading will not be able to detect you. At the same time, you will locate the killer using Alert when they destroy something. This way you can react and hide when they are close by. It's worth complementing the set with a key that allows you to discover the killer's location.
