Data Collectors are one of types of collectibles/activities appearing in various regions of Pandora. Finding them and completing the related actions will reward you with recon retrieval data, reading which gives you deeper knowledge of the game world. For activating all of Data Collectors, you'll receive a trophy - Data Retriever. On this page of our guide, we show how to restart Data Collectors and how to locate them based on visual clues.

How to activate Data Collectors?

You'll know you're approaching a Data Collector when you see characteristic wind turbines, that can be encountered even when causally exploring the world of the game. Additionally, when you're close to a Collector, an icon of the SID hacking tool will appear at the bottom of the screen.

With a turbine encountered, make your way to the nearby terminal. Use the hacking device on it to begin the process of restarting the station.

After hacking the terminal, you need to find some relays placed in the vicinity. The process of searching for them can be troublesome, as the game doesn't explain in detail how to look for them. The key is in SID tool, or rather its crosshair. It changes shape based on how far it is from a relay. When pointed away from the relay, the target is rectangular - the closer to a relay you are, the more round it becomes.
You can also distinguish the location of a relay through characteristic, electronic sounds they make.

After finding a relay, hack it, then repeat the process. After hacking all of the required relays, the Collector will be restarted, and you'll be rewarded with Recon Retrieval Data.

Location: Silk Forest, right next to Droplet Islands, north-west from Ikran Rookery.

Kinglor Forest - Station #2

Location : Waterway Valley - the eastern end of the region.

Upper Plains - Station #3

Location: East of Daughter's Pool, in the central part of the region.

Upper Plains - Station #4

Location: West of the Circle, on the river bank near the rocks.

Upper Plains - Station #5

Location: On the eastern border of the region, near the Na'vi camp.

Clouded Forest - Station #6

Location: Between the mountain and the Gas Extraction Plant Bravo.

Clouded Forest - Station #7

Location: On the border between the regions, at the bottom of the gorge.

Location: The western border of the region, on the bank of the Stealth River.

Clouded Forest - Station #9

Location: North of the Gas Collector Alpha. On the bank of River of Ancestors.
