Ammunition and overheating in Warhammer Inquisitor - Martyr Warhammer Inquisitor - Martyr Guide
Last update: 15 June 2018
Arming your Inquisitor requires the supply of ammunition or energy. Which one of these two types of resources is in demand depends on the character class and weaponry. The Psykers are exception of this rule, whose weapons need neither ammunition nor energy to operate.
Conventional ammunition is required for weapons such as rifles and sniper rifles. It is really helpful, that number of ammo is unlimited. This eliminates the need to constantly search new hiding spots with loot and ammunition. Nevertheless, the weapon requires reloading after every specified number of shots. Each weapon differs in the number of shots per magazine. How much ammunition is left to be reloaded is indicated by the indicator marked in the screen below.
When the indicator reaches zero, the weapon will be automatically reloaded. This takes up valuable time. If you see that you have a low ammunition ratio you can reload your weapons manually. Always do this when you are not fighting. This way you don't lose valuable reloading time in the early combat phase.
For Lasgun, on the other hand, the ammunition indicator is replaced by a temperature indicator. It works opposite to the ammunition indicator. Each shot raises this pointer by a certain value, depending on the shot type. When the indicator reaches its maximum value, an overheat message will be displayed and the weapon will stop working. Then, you have to wait until the weapon has cooled down. To avoid this, you can't continuously shoot with several projectiles at once. This is an extremely effective method of fighting, but it generates a lot of heat. Therefore, try to shoot as many single shots as possible.
