Don't run in open spaces
Running in the open makes you an easy target. Many players in Valorant find a good shooting position, most often behind a cover and wait for a careless opponent to appear.
Don't expose yourself
When you eliminate an opponent or one of your companions is eliminated, they will drop their weapons. Consider whether it is worth taking a chance and exposing yourself to swap your weapon for a better one. Before you decide to collect weapons, use a skill that limits your opponent's sight.
Do not stay in the affected area
If you notice that a ball of lava has landed right under your feet and the area around you has gone up in flames, evacuate immediately. Standing in an endangered place can deal you over-time damage or even kill.
Don't shoot until you aim
All sounds in Valorant are extremely well audible, especially gun shots. By shooting blindly, you will alert opponents about your position. When you see a target, aim and then shoot.
Don't shoot at allies
Avoid shooting at allies. Not only will you alert the opposing team, but you can also distract your allies - if they lose their vigilance for even a split second and, for example, turn in your direction, they will become an easy target.
Don't forget to reload your weapon
Always try to have as many rounds in the magazine as possible. Reloading or changing weapons during combat will at best cost you a few seconds and some of your health. At worst, it will lead to your death.
Don't use sniper weapons in close-range combat
Sniper weapons do a great job in long-distance combat. When you fight someone at a close range, use a rifle, shotgun or pistol.
