Valorant: Beta - how to get access? Riot, Twitch account Valorant guide, tips
Last update: 10 June 2020
The closed beta of Valorant is undoubtedly a treat for all fans of online shooters. Unfortunately, not everyone will have the opportunity to participate in it. Unlike other games, in which players could apply to participate in the testing beta phase and have a chance to receive a special beta key via email, the whole process looks completely different in Valorant. Below we have prepared valuable information that will help players access the Valorant closed beta.
- Create a Riot Games account
- Link your Riot Games account with your Twitch account
- Watch specific streams on the Twitch platform
- Download the game, install it and play!
Create a Riot Games account
The first and basic step is to create a Riot Games account. If you already have such an account because you have played other Riot titles, such as League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics or Legends of Runeterra, then you can use it.
In order to create a Riot Games account, you must visit the official website of the game - press here to check the website. By using your browser you can select the option to register a new account or simply log on to the existing one.
Link your Riot Games account with your Twitch account
The next step that will bring you closer to gaining access to the Valorant closed beta is to connect your Riot Games account with the Twitch platform. Connecting your Riot Games account with your Twitch account is essential for gaining early access to Valorant.
To link your Twitch account with your Riot Games account, visit this web address and select your Riot Games account. When the whole operation is successful, the Riot Games account will show you the information that you have correctly linked both accounts.
Watch specific streams on the Twitch platform
Starting from April 3, watching certain channels on the Twitch platform, everyone interested will have a chance to receive the so-called DROP. The latter will allow you to take part in the closed beta of Valorant on April 7, 2020.
If you're wondering which channels to watch on Twitch to get a chance for receiving a DROP, then check this link - you can find a list of players who have been officially invited to the Valorant closed beta with direct links to their channels on the Twitch platform.
Remember that starting from April 3, 2020, there may be many scammers on channels dedicated to Valorant who do not have the DROP option enabled on their streams, but will add such information to their stream descriptions. It is definitely better to watch the channels of well-known streamers. After watching such a channel, you should be informed that DROP is enabled on this particular channel. If you have successfully received access to the Valorant closed beta, then you will get a proper notification about it as well. The picture above shows example information from another game - Call of Duty Warzone.
Download the game, install it and play!
After accessing the closed beta of Valorant, you can proceed to the last step - download and install the game. To download a Valorant game client, please visit the official website of the game, which can be found here.
After downloading the file, start the installer and wait for the game to download. You must have at least 7GB of free disk space to download and install Valorant. Warning! If you try to install Valorant without access to a closed beta, you will be informed accordingly: "You are not authorized to play this game. If you think this is a mistake, please contact our player support services."
