Valorant had its official launch on June 2, 2020. Unfortunately, it didn't avoid some technical problems with the game's client as well as servers, especially in Europe. Valorant servers in Europe were unavailable for several hours - many players couldn't access the servers at all and received various error codes such as error code 29, error code 43, and error code 59. Some complained that they couldn't run the game due to the "Couldn't start error" message. Fortunately, there are some proven solutions to all the problems mentioned above.

Valorant error code 59

Error code 59 means you can't access Valorant. Error code 59 appears after you start the game's client. The error screen gives you two choices - log out of the account or exit to the desktop. Error code 59 will probably keep appearing whenever Riot Games does some work on the servers, making the game inaccessible. When that error appears, the player can do nothing but wait patiently until Valorant's servers are restarted.

Valorant error code 29

Error code 29 appears in Valorant when a problem with the network occurs. When error code 29 occurs, the player should check whether the system's built-in firewall or its equivalent allows Valorant to have a connection. First, check for a problem with the Windows Defender Firewall and then check the external firewall if you have one. To check Windows Defender Firewall, follow these steps:

1. Enter "Windows Defender Firewall" in the start bar;
2. Go to Settings and delete all entries related to Valorant and Riot client;
3. Add an entry using the "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall" button and find the VALORANT.exe file on the drive (default path is C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\VALORANT.exe). Confirm your selection with the OK button, then add this file to all exceptions and confirm everything with the OK button;
4. Repeat the above step for the vgc.exe file (default path is C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard\vgc.exe) - this is an anti-hacker system;
5. Repeat the above step for the RiotClientServices.exe file (default path is C:\Riot Games\Riot Client\RiotClientServices.exe) - that's the Valorant client.

If you still have a problem with error code 29 in Valorant after completing all of the above steps, you can try to uninstall the game.

Valorant error code 43

Error Code 43 appears in Valorant when the system has exceeded the waiting time. This means that the game's client couldn't run it within a specified time. To fix error code 43, simply restart the Valorant client.

Valorant error code 45

Error code 45 appears in Valorant when the anti-hacker Vanguard system has to be restarted. To fix error code 45, simply restart the Valorant client. If this doesn't work, uninstall Riot Vanguard and install it again.

1. In the start bar, enter "Add or Remove Programs";
2. Find Riot Vanguard on the list of programs and click "Uninstall";
3. Restart the Valorant client, and Riot Vanguard should install itself automatically - the entire procedure may require restarting the computer.

Valorant maintenance

Every once in a while, Valorant may have a technical break during which the developers try to make servers more stable or fix troublesome bugs in the game. During that period, players won't be able to access Valorant servers. Valorant couldn't start error

During Valorant's closed beta, and after the official launch, many players complained that they couldn't start the game at all and received "Couldn't start error" message. To correct this error, follow the following instructions:

1. Click RMB on the Valorant shortcut and go to properties;
2. Go to the "Compatibility" tab and select two options here: "disable fullscreen optimizations" and "run this game as an administrator". Click "Apply";
3. Reboot your computer;
4. Run the game and see if the problem is still there.

If the above instructions didn't solve the problem with running Valorant, you can try these steps:

1. Find the VALORANT-Win64-Shipping file on your disk (default path is C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\VALORANT-Win64-Shipping);
2. Click RMB on the file and go to properties;
3. Go to the "Compatibility" tab and deselect two options here: "disable fullscreen optimizations" and "run this game as an administrator". Click "Apply";
4. Reboot your computer;
5. Run the game and see if the problem still appears;
6. If so, repeat the entire process.

"We couldn't install a required dependency" Valorant error

During the closed beta and after the official release of Valorant, many players had experienced "We couldn't install a required dependency" error when trying to run the game's client. To fix this bug, you have to uninstall Riot Vanguard.

1. In the start bar, enter "Add or Remove Programs";
2. Find Riot Vanguard on the list of programs and click "Uninstall";
