Walkthrough - Michigan Ave. Reservoir - part 1 | Walkthrough Splinter Cell Conviction Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Walkthrough: Just as before, you should begin by interacting with an equipment crate #1. Make sure to take an assault rifle with you, because you're going to need one in a short while. Head forward. Carefully approach a group of opponents, taking cover behind the nearest object #2. Your objective will be to eliminate all nearby mercenaries so that you'll have a chance to interrogate their leader.
The best way to initiate this fight would be to throw a grenade at the largest group of enemies #1. Keep throwing the grenades to the exact same spot to eliminate additional hostiles. If someone tries to inspect the area near your cover use an assault rifle #2 or flashbang grenades.
Keep attacking enemy units until their leader is the only one left #1. You'll now have to get closer to him without taking additional risks. I would recommend triggering an EMP device and running towards a nearby truck #2.
Notice that there's a passageway to the right of the truck #1. Use the fact that the leader of the mercenaries is looking at your previous cover #2 and move forward. If he's looking your way consider throwing a flashbang grenade to stun him.
Carefully drop down from the upper ledge #1 and approach the leader without being seen #2. Press the action key to grab him and to start a new interrogation sequence.
This interrogation has similar rules to the previous ones, however one of the larger objects will play a key role in getting the information you need #1 #2. Once you're done interrogating the leader of the mercenaries you should return to the equipment crate in order to resupply.
You must now decide how you want to enter the warehouse:
OPTION A - using a pipe on the left building and climbing through an opened window
OPTION B - opening an unguarded door to the right
Option A: In this case you'll have to proceed to your left. Find a large pipe on the wall of the warehouse #1 and use it to make your way to an opened window #2.
Once you're inside the warehouse you can use the horizontal pipes to remain close to the ceiling #1 or you may approach the ledge #2 and drop down.
Option B: In this case you'll have to proceed to your right. Locate an unguarded door #1 and head inside #2 without even using a mirror. You'll end up in a dark corridor.
It would be a good idea to destroy a lamp along the way #1, so that you'll increase your chances of remaining hidden. Approach the main area of the warehouse #2.
Walkthrough (continued): The easiest way to clear a path to your next destination would be to start eliminating enemy soldiers #1, however it won't be necessary. You'll have to make your way to a small room with one of the engineers #2 and you should know that you won't be allowed to destroy nearby sources of light. This means you'll have to move only when it's dark and take cover when the lamps are active.
I would recommend getting closer to the room occupied by the engineer using balustrades found to the left #1 and to the right #2 of a small entrance.
Wait until it's dark inside the warehouse again, move closer to the entrance and set off an EMP device #1. Quickly enter the control room #2. You won't have to kill the engineer, because it's possible to run past him.
Quickly grab a pipe located close to the ceiling #1 and move away from the engineer's station so you won't be found when it's bright here again. Eventually you should make your way to a vertical pipe and slide down to a lower level #2.
Head forward here and then turn left #1. There's only tunnel leading to your current destination, so you shouldn't get lost. You'll have a chance to witness an interesting scene along the way #2, however it won't be mandatory to remain here until it's ended. Proceed towards a new area occupied by enemy troops.
You must now decide how you want to get to the imprisoned woman:
OPTION A - eliminating all hostile units
OPTION B - avoiding enemy units until the last room
Option A: Despite what you may think this isn't an option you should ignore, because even if you attack and kill all nearby enemy units the hostage will be safe. Make your way to a larger corridor and head forward #1 while staying hidden. I would recommend choosing a tunnel located to your right #2.
You should be able to exit the tunnel next to a large group of enemy units #1. Wait until more guards show up and kill three or four them using Mark and Execute #2.
Expect more enemies to start showing up in this area #1. You can use a pistol or grenades to kill them, however one of them will be wearing a helmet and you should defeat him in melee combat #2 (doing this will also give you a chance to use Mark and Execute action in the near future). Make sure to use sonar goggles during this entire battle, so you'll have an easier job locating enemy soldiers.
You may proceed towards the room where a lot of guards were stationed prior to your attack #1. Choose the only available passageway here and then head up the stairs #2 to make your way to an upper balcony.
Option B: The good news is that avoiding enemy units is possible and that you won't have to risk too much. The bad news is that reaching your destination will take more time. Start off by finding a pipe on the left wall #1. Use the pipes to make your way to an unguarded upper balcony #2.
Make a few steps forward on the balcony and destroy a lamp located directly in front of you #1. This should attract the attention of all nearby guards, however you won't have to worry about being seen by them. Instead of waiting here grab a new horizontal pipe located directly above you #2.
Use the horizontal pipe to make your way through a small opening #1. Eventually you should end up above a large hole #2. Wait until enemy guards seen below your position leave this area and go to the previous room to check the lamp you've destroyed.
Activate a portable EMP device #1 and quickly drop down to a lower balcony. As soon as you've landed start running towards a passageway leading to the next corridor #2. You shouldn't be followed assuming you've decided to land with no enemies present in the room.
You'll now find yourself in the same corridor as one of enemy soldiers #1. I would recommend taking cover to your right #2 and waiting for him to get here.
Wait until the guard has moved closer to your position and knock him out in direct combat #1 (before he manages to return to a brighter section of the corridor). You may head up the stairs #2 to make your way to an upper balcony.
Walkthrough (continued): Proceed to one of the corners of the room #1 and notice that you'll be allowed to eliminate three or four guards from here #2 using Mark and Execute action. Thankfully even if someone survives your initial attack you'll have a chance to kill that person from the upper balconies without having to worry about the hostage.
Use your sonar goggles to make sure that there aren't any other hostiles in the area. Jump over the railing or use the stairs to reach the lower floor and talk to the rescued woman #1 to find about the existence of two generators. You may proceed towards a nearby tunnel #2.
